If Edmonton don't match the offer sheet I would see them have interest in a young defender that can play now and could move the puck. The Habs have good options for them : Jordan Harris and Jayden Strubble.

I think it Ceci comes with a first? Do that deal in a heart beat. That first can be used to move up in the draft or trade for another player. Hutson, Mailloux and Reinbacher can all use time in Laval. 3 NHL games of experience between them, and other than a full season in Laval for Mailloux, you are only talking 11 games of AHL experience for Reinbacher. Zero reason to rush these 3 to the NHL Makes for Barron, Harris and Struble having a rough time of it. Would assume Ceci would be 3 RD, or do you move Guhle down to 2 LD, Savard up to 1 RD, Ceci 2 RD and let Barron play on the 3rd pairing next to Xhekaj. That d corp means Harris and Struble see very little game time. But hey, if you can get a 1st along with Ceci, and then something else for him at the trade deadline...why the hell not.

I don't think it's in Montreal's future plan to add another d man when they have been rumored to be shipping one out via trade. They have a couple of older d men already, so if they add Ceci, which young guy sits ? Not logical.

Montreal don’t need anymore picks , their next step should be making cap room and room in the lineup for players that have no future in Montreal, Anderson and Gallagher should be what Hughes is working on Montreal already have another 11 picks for next year with all this congestion , there’s no room already , not sure who comes up with these ridiculous trade ideas 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂ Montreal next trade will involve Gallagher, Anderson or dvorak going somewhere along with assets for the purpose of making room

Dvorak is an FA after this year. But, getting more 1st rounder gives us picks to trade away with Anderson or Gallagher for ppl to take them.

Reinbacher will start in Laval and come to Montreal when Savard gets traded at deadline. I see Hutson and WiFi alternating on a line with Savard for the first few months of the season. 3rd pair of Harris/Barron

Then keep Hutson in Laval. The WORST place for him is the bench.

@@RB-wg3qm I’m afraid he’ll get his head taken off in Laval. We can’t expect him to play 80+ games this year. He’s used to playing 30ish in NCAA. He’ll need to get some rest here and there.

@@SteveDion NOW my friend you are talking. IF we can open up room, and acquire a forward asset, I AM ALL FOR THAT. There truly are too many players, AND, even if not to the Habs, how have none of them moved??? That is what I have been wondering for a couple of weeks now.

Hutson may not make the NHL or stay there long. We all know NHL size stats are, let's say, generous. In competition with boys or non-pro men, Hutson does look good. But, in the NHL, the number of fast skating big men outnumber slow or slight players. The concern is that teams will continually dump the puck in Hutson's corner and send two players in. (Remember this is the Florida Panthers' "forget the puck" strategy of punishing teams at the start of a game.) Even as elusive as Hutson is, he will be absorbing a lot of punishment on a slight frame. I hope I am wrong but realistically I don't think he will be the game changer and be at best a power play specialist.

It’s simple. The staff on a professional hockey team should know which players are ready to make the team. The staff in Montreal have my confidence. Unfortunately the Montreal Canadiens are a very bad team team right now and are going through a rebuild so they probably are not rushing any development. This is probably a good thing because we’re tired of mediocre, we don’t want to compete for playoff spots we want to compete for cups. Unfortunately for Reinbacker, Hutson is above Maillioux and Maillioux is above Reinbacker in my amateur fan opinion. If Montreal was competing for a cup there would be no doubt Maillioux would’ve played last year. If it me I would give them all a fair shake at a spot and if they are significantly better than the current defensive lineup then they make the team but if they are just a little better, then it benefits the team if they Finnish near the bottom again and they win a Championship in AHL and develop. They are all going to be great NHL players… but do they want a cup? Trust the process
