Ben, the people on the board may just be trying to get the "Wayne LaPierre Award" for public service.

They're more than welcomed to try to punish clubs, but all that will happen is that clubs will start disaffiliating with org and continue to run Hit Factor/Outlaw matches. Clubs have adopted the "no taxation without representation" mindset and they will continue to do so until Hot Dog and the rest of the Legacy BOC are out.

Thinking they can control what people do with targets after they’re sold is wild. All they can do is pull the licensing of the target manufacturers. People have been using USPSA targets for other match formats for years. I suppose they can choose to make zero money instead of some money in target licensing fees.

“The beatings will continue until morale improves”, signed The Board.

This is so disappointing. My local club basically said "fuck you" to USPSA, and went back to holding "high power rifle" and shotgun matches..... one practical shooting pistol match every other month now. The board is fucking the sport. I have to drive two hours to my closest match now.

Discipline how? Are they gonna spank us? USPSA doesn't own hit factor scoring.

"using USPSA targets, using USPSA steel.." hmm last time I check USPSA didn't even offer to give me a discount on buying targets or steel. I've ran multiple matches that are not USPSA using targets my CLUB buys. Will they come after me because I run outlaw matches as well as being a MD for USPSA? The board has really loss sight on what is important to it's membership sadly.

"Obviously, fundamentally, these people are confused about who is stealing from who" -- Ben Stoeger truth bomb.

Clubs finding out not paying fees puts about 15% more into their bank. Clubs able to buy more targets, pasters, steel, props,etc. Yeah.... I'm sure threats to the clubs, and the people in charge will warm the cockles of their hearts and bring them back!

There will always be those that will not be satisfied with local Hit Factor/Outlaw matches. These are people that are trying to be recognized in the global world of shooting, and will continue to support USPSA. And there is a shitload of them. We see this when a "B" shooter will spend $400 to shoot the National match, knowing that they will never win anything. But they love wearing the Tee shirt and saying that they were there. I am not one of them. I am a GM in Steel Challenge and I could care less where I stand globally. I have fun when I shoot and have met a lot of new friends through the years. I can go to 10 matches for the price of one, and not have to spend $1000 on travel, hotels, and food. But that's just me, and my 2 cents worth.

Just shot the 2024 Florida IDPA state championships and every stage had multiple ways to run it. It was a lot more fun than the IDPA of old where stage planning was virtually dictated to you. They still have reloading rules (albeit simplified) and prioritization of targets based on tactical priority. The balance between speed and accuracy is slanted more towards accuracy, but it has progressed a lot over the years and is more fun than ever. It'd be nice to see Ben Stoeger take on Nils Jonassen and JJ Racaza at some major matches. A past USPSA presidental candidate, Luigi Li, won the Florida State match this weekend.

What is “hit factor scoring”? Points divided by time. How many points did you collect per second, on average. A lot like saying “miles per hour”. If you are some outlaw club worried about USPSA HQ, then call it “point-speed scoring”. Or just go with time plus scoring. Call it “any two hits in the brown and it’s down”.

I stopped shooting USPSA a year ago but I am now fully immersed in Steel Challenge. I fear that SC may be affected by what happens with USPSA. Your thoughts please.

What are your thoughts on PCSL? Seems like it could be a good alternative. All the materials are open source and there are no fees. Rules seem pretty good too
@ibtaba8 ай бұрын
I wish PCSL was more available and gain in popularity
@jediknight12948 ай бұрын
Until they get a classification system I don't think it will have the push, that's the main draw of the organisation for most shooters who won't shoot regional or national matches
@ibtaba8 ай бұрын
@@jediknight1294 my problem with the classification system has always been that a decent amount of USPSA shooters train only for classifiers and ignore the rest. A lot of “paper” master and GM shooters out there.
@jediknight12948 ай бұрын
@@ibtaba true but it is the draw for a lot of local only shooters. I think we need annother level which is for people who win area, section and national matches. Can only be awarded via wins. Oh and the you can only be 1 div lower than yiur highest division is silly. Especially given the pcc bumps
@2AlphaCrew8 ай бұрын
I’m still confused on the rules.. is it 2 gun only? Can you run whatever you want on any stage? Is there divisions?

Didn't they lose their corporate name/charter and have to re-incorporate with a similar name? Did the "new" USPSA corporation update their copyright on the "old" USPSA corporation's rules? If not, they'll likely have no standing.

They can punish the clubs all they want, but we have the money. Not one dime.
@jediknight12948 ай бұрын
You can't copyright or protect a ruleset... I can take the USPSA ruleset and do what I like with it. Good luck trying to punish people who aren't members, who aren't advertising it as USPSA matches. As for the steel... IF USPSA actually paid for club steel that would be a huge benefit for clubs and is something WE WANT. We WANT USPSA to provide value and support to local clubs that benefits the wider membership, improving local Matches... A discipline committee what they are going to ban people for shooting other gun games?
@dennisparham58608 ай бұрын
This isn't a very smart idea. They need to focus more on following the rules themselves and do the right thing for everyone instead. Being more transparent and open to people who may have a different opinion will go a long way.

@OntarioBearHunter8 ай бұрын
USPSA is IPSC.. IPSC is just as toxic and shytty, at least in Canada
@jediknight12948 ай бұрын
USPSA is the Region that runs IPSC in the US, you need USPSA approval to run IPSC affiliated matches. Thats the major problem
@vicvance13878 ай бұрын
@@jediknight1294 ah okay I wasn't sure because of the different divisions
@jediknight12948 ай бұрын
@@vicvance1387 yeah there's been a lot of changes over the years. IPSC went on a heavy push to minimise any idea of combat/self defence related shooting partly in a failed attempt to get it into the Olympics in the 90s. Its why the no camo policy, the classic/turtle target and a few other things. I do argue the IPSC production rules are better. Less mods allowed and 15 rounds always made more sense for the idea of the division and a place for stock guns and new shooters.

IPSC was founded by Mike Dalton. USPSA came later. Odd how the hierarchy works now.
