They BOUGHT the FIRST New McLaren GT!

The brand new McLaren GT is the latest addition to the Auto Vivendi Clubhouse! They've taken delivery of one of the first, if not the very first, new GT in the UK to add to the fleet so let's check out all of the cars on display and then go out for a drive in the McLaren GT too.
I'm joined by my friend Craig from Auto Vivendi, who founded Vmax200 before the two companies joined. After seeing they took delivery of the new McLaren GT and having not been able to film with it properly before, it seemed the perfect opportunity to head over and catch up, plus find out a little more about it.
The McLaren GT is effectively a more luxurious angle on the supercar for grand touring; competing with the likes of the Aston DB11 and Bentley Conti GT. In this case it retains the familiar 4.0l TT V8 mid-engine layout with a carbon tub and 7spd dual clutch but with a softer setup, more luxurious materials and a much larger luggage space that typically found in such a car. Producing 620hp and 630nm, it's no slouch with a 0-200km/h (124mph) time of just 9.0 seconds.
Auto Vivendi operate a supercar club with a gallery of amazing cars on display including their McLaren Senna and Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake amongst plenty of others like the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, Aston Martin DBS and McLaren 720S. They also run the AVmax200 events where in the past I have frequently attended and shot many videos you may have seen on the channel!
After catching up with Craig and pulling the covers back from the Zagato, let's go out for a quick run in the McLaren GT to run through some of the features and see how it stacks up as a 'daily driver' supercar and what it might be like on a long run.

Tim, in all your videos where there is no loud engine sound there is an annoying background noise, similar to a ventilation system. I reckon it must come from the camera itself. It's difficult to ignore it once you hear it. Do you think you can do something about that?

Exactly, and that is one thing Schmee does not do. to him, cars are a short range transportation appliance or a track toy. Even in the USA recently, he did not drive his Ford GT to any destination that was more than 100 miles away, nor did he take any cross country trips. I think he thought it too boring. So he flew and had the car trucked. WTF? An attitude of a Prius or Tesla owner. This is where Schmee really strikes out as an automotive journalist. They might as well be Hummel figurines to him. They are collector's items to him, not sources of open road touring joy. Freude am Fahren? For Schmee it is the Joy of Looking Cute.

@@maxnix346 he explained why he didn't drive cross country in the GT and towed the car from City to city. The mileage would be stacking up stupidly and hurting the value, plus the not so practical fuel tank in the gt, no luggage space and having to carry his girlfriend + luggage for 2 people.

Hello Shmee! Amazing content as always, thank you for all of your reviews. The GT is amazing piece of machinery. I love skiing and I really enjoyed watching the AMG GTR packed for a ski trip. I haven't seen anywhere is the luggage compartment of the GT actually able to accommodate the ski equipment of two people. I think it will be really interesting to see :) Keep up the great work!

That graffiti as an accent wall to go along with all of the different color cars is such a fantastic idea. With your collection having multiple colors, are you considering having an accent wall like that? Maybe you could do a collage with photos of some of the places you've traveled to that you're most fond of. For example, skyline views of the UAE, various tracks you've been to, car events in other countries, and maybe some of the more notable scenery from different parts of Europe would be pretty cool. You could even do the accent wall in black and white. Either way, I imagine that your garage is going to be a pretty cool place and just think, one day an up and coming KZbinr will be contacting you so they can tour your collection to use as content.

McLaren are really shaking up the SUPERcar world with leading edge design and engineering. Makes Lambo and Ferrari latest offerings look so out of date already eg F8 Tributo = a facelifted 10 year old 458. The pick of the McLaren bunch is still the 675LT spider for me though especially in Napier green
