This is my retirement dream. 4 years. To be able to visit places like your RV park. I'm so proud of the Black RVer's and the Black owned RV parks.
@barbarabuford57954 жыл бұрын
Listening to you all speaking of your Dream and Entrepreneurship, is motivating, encouraging and gives Hope. I know there are a lot of RVers that will want to convene there, Just Because! Can't wait until we can own our own RV! In the meantime, have u thought about renting out RV's to people who would love to fly out and experience your vision, RVing? (Only thing is, I can't stand the thought of those wet bath RV's!) Anyway, if you could team up with RV owners willing to rent their RV's, or even an RV sales company that would rent RV's at discount prices to your customers, that would be nice. And because of Covid 19, someone could have a business just sanitizing the RV's for perspective customers. It would get me out there quicker! ..LOVE you Fox ❤️ and Miles! GREAT interviewers! That's what you all need to do, like Bob! Interview Black RVERS showcasing their lifestyles!

Congratulations on opening your RV Park and all the best to you and your family. My wife and I got into RVing about 8 years ago. We both grew up in NYC and camping was not something we did. On a whim we rent a class C for a long weekend. The first thing she said when we got home was "when are we going next". That started the adventure and we're on our second travel trailer (Jayco 28RLS). We're retiring this year, hope to do a lot more traveling and when we swing south we'll pay a visit.

When I first started tent camping, it was years before we saw someone who looked like us. People were friendly and sometimes would offer a beer. It was refreshing! The worst thing that ever happened was some young people stole our wood. After I joined a black ski club more camping opened up more opportunities to camp among friends. I am a better woman because of camping. I also used camping as a means test to check out how an individual behaves without tv, phone etc. My daughter and grandchildren learned to set up the tent, beds, etc. at a young age. It was never work for them, we all love camping. I am very happy for the couples in this podcast. Thank you so much for sharing❣

My personal experience is that water brings everyone, we had a house with a pool and people were over constantly and same with RV parks, sounds like you got the water figured out so maybe a less expensive start would be a splash pad park, you can add new sections over the years and insurance and rules might be less than a pool🤔just a thought. I would do that trail ride in a heart beat, oh if it ended or started with a barbecue or a food truck I would pay for that too lol 😋. Good luck everybody👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The only Black folks we saw at Lake Mead or Lake Havasu were the ones that came with us from Los Angeles. I started RV camping with my Black family about 5 years and find it funny how white don’t speak to us until they see we are experienced campers, watched us for 24 hours and after they’ve had something to drink. We are hooked! Good luck to you and your business.

My husband (who happens to be black) was very reluctant to go camping when we first got married, he had “camped” as a Marine but not recreationally. After our first trip to Colorado though he was completely hooked! We’ve not ever encountered anyone who treated him or I poorly because he’s black while camping, and for that am thankful. We’d love to be able to go camping and be around people of color who also enjoy the outdoors! Hopefully some day we will make it to Georgia, never been there. 😄

Hi Pete, just seeing this. Have not purchased yet but was thinking of renting first when Covid came along! Will reconsider, while eyeing the outbreak! Looking at 24 foot RV's like the Thor Freedom Elite 22 FEF presently. I just know I will definitely visit The Werthens Park in GA whatever, whenever I do, whether renting or purchasing. Had thought about buying land, building an RV park as an entrepreneur. The cost of the land not bad, but getting what I wanted on it made the costs go up astronomically! Plus I'm a senior, past your senior, and not certain how that will pan out. Anyway, thanks for asking!

This is so wonderful to find. Can't wait to make my way to Warthen RV Park. Yes, there are so many joys in RVing. My parents traveled with us across country every year with 4 motorhomes throughout my childhood, and those are the best times of my young life. Meet amazing people and lifelong friends of all ages, backgrounds, colors, and cultures. At the same time, it's sad that a couple folks on this stream don't understand some of the deeply racist experiences that occur in small towns, rural communities, and RV Parks. that have POC praying for healthy camping experiences for our own children. #WarthenRV, you are a Godsend. Other #BlackRVpark owners, please stand up and Thank you!

Thanks to my older brother for telling me about this couple. Fox & Miles seem awesome as well. This is my first viewing of this channel. I am excited about finding out there are black-owned RV parks as I have a dream project of my own. Back in 2005, I married a Filipina and in 2009 I retired and moved to my wife's home town in the Philippines. I had this dream all my life to create a learning and spiritual organization within a resort setting. As I am sure that all of you know that we have plans and God may send us in a totally different direction. After 5 years we realized that it was going to be too difficult to reach our goals and I was missing my US family (kids and 90-year-old mom), so we returned to the US after living in the Philippines for 6 years. We have never given up our dream of a resort on my wife's property. Before the pandemic, we were planning to return to the Philippines to build our resort with an old idea we had, (cottages) for foreigners as our main target. As a part of that target group, we understood we would need US and other foreign country connections. Knowing there are black-owned companies like this will help us in a huge way. One of our draws will be connections with surrounding tourist attractions, resorts, and services foreigners may seek out from Americans that know the culture and government requirements for various things. With the COVID-19 pandemic delaying our move back and continuing our dream project, we are currently assuming we need to get this operating within the next 5 years. A lot of people we know (probably everyone we know) knows someone that is Filipino but there is a difference when your own countrymen are familiar with the Philippines and the US. We also have connections in Holland. I will save this video so that we can reach out to both these young couples and we will search for others of all nationalities but having connections with our own people is golden!

Love this! It would be an amazing accomplishment for others that look like us to establish R.V. Parks all around the United States. The sense of having a place to go in each state bringing a sense of security and support for black owned businesses. I can’t wait for our journey and I’m so glad that there are more options out there for us! Great job y’all!
