That's an amazing accomplishment. It only took me 5 years to build my scratch-built Sonex. LOL I will always consider that one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Congrats to Sonex, LLC.

Great coverage throughout the week brother Bryan. Great job by both EAA and Experimental aircraft channel for the daily coverage. Bryan, you should be the offical channel that covers the EAA one week wonder projects each and every year! Great job brother, great job!

It was fun to stop by a few times each day to see the progress. After hanging around the booth for a while, it became obvious that there were almost always 'too many helpers' . They were literally bumping into each other. Truly an amazing amount of work done in seven days time. I can only imagine how much faster it would have been built with a team of six that worked from start to finish. I can't wait to see what they will build next year!

Awesome! I’m in the market to purchase this aircraft built by all these “engineers”. My dear old Mother-In-Law said she always wanted to learn to fly… but never said anything aboot landing. As we all know, if even one rivet is loose, or if we have a bucket-full of bolts/screws/connectors, it must be experimental. I shared a bottle or two of fine red wine with Mother-In-Law, and she will maiden it early tomorrow morning. After a few samosas, and coffee/kaloua. I’m pumped!

All well and good but where is the taxi test? You never showed that part. All build up and no ending.
@ExperimentalAircraftChannel
@ExperimentalAircraftChannel 2 жыл бұрын
The "ending" was this started (and properly) and was able to taxi out under its own power. It was quite rushed at the very end. The guys doing the wiring on the panel and ultimately terminating the engine ECU wiring literally worked up until it was pushed out of the tent. There was no time allowance to mount cameras and audio in the cockpit. Sorry to disappoint...we shared all we could with what was permitted to us. Still an amazing feat all in OneWeek I would say! :-)

So.... no flying? Impressive feat of building to be sure, but it seems like they didn't make an airplane in 7 days, they made a really cool propeller powered car in 7 days. They could have had the same results with just the fuselage, engine, gear and such.
