I've lived in São Paulo for 6 years straight and never been robbed. I've been to Paris , in 2018, spent less than 2 months there and I've been robbed twice and nearly got scammed at Eiffel Tower' surroundings.😅 I mean, I'm not saying SP is safer than Paris exactly but I'd say the level of insecurity in SP is just the same as every huge city around the world. All you've gotta do is knowing which neighbourhoods are safe and which are not... Anyway, Lovely vlog Jess :)

I think In all big cities yoh have to be careful! But my opinions are based on my experiences. I’ve also heard of a lot of crazy experiences from Paris so that’s not too far fetched to me! Add this to your Portuguese. We say Bom dia when greeting. "Hoje esta um dia bom" , "Today is a good day." you may say if the day has a good weather, kinda a sunny day.

It's 'bom dia' for good morning. 'Dia bom' is something else, a good day as in 'É um dia bom para comer coxinha'. It's a good (= ideal, perfect etc) day to eat a coxinha.

I am a 45 year-old Brazilian. Lived in Brasilia most of my life but I have also been many times in Rio, Sao Paulo and lots of other cities. I have never been robbed or seen a robbery. Or even heard a gun shot for that matter. Brazil has it's problems, but can be safe if you are wise.

Hello, loved your video. I live in Canada and every year I fly to Brazil for the Christmas holidays. You are right, it is a long flight and with COVID it is very difficult to wear a mask for 10 hours. Since young age, I love airlines, and I collect from old timetables to airline ties etc. I would love to to be a flight attendant but life takes us to different purposes and I am a Social Worker. This is the first that I have seen of your video and wanted to let you know that I loved watching your vblog about your daily routine as a flight attendant. For what’s worth, I worked as a cashier for a carrier in São Paulo (I was born, raised in SP and am damn proud of it! LOL) back in 1996, before it went belly up. Although it's been a loooong time since I worked at the airport on the ground, the upbeat and friendly atmosphere that an airline company usually gives off is absolutely contagious hands down! You really send off good and positive vibes, and I bet you're the kind of person that anyone would love to be friends with. No wonder your friends are so lucky to be able to hang out with you and call you a friend. So glad that you tried our 'coxinha' and our 'dadinho de tapioca' -- they're scrumptuous, absolutely! I'm so sorry that you felt insecure during your layover here -- I wouldn’t blame you at all because if I were in your shoes, I guess I'd've probably felt the same way you did. First time seeing any of your videos, and as a Brit living in SP for about 8 years, it’s always fun to see a fellow estrangeira’s views on the city. I know the hotel that you have layovers (I always see airline staff coming in and out while walking about), and the neighbourhood, it’s pretty calm! Not too much to do around the area though. But I’ve never had any trouble, in hundreds of visits to the neighbourhood, touch wood! (And how did you learn Portuguese?)

Thanks for a great video...I miss brazil..Ive been 5 times but havent since the pandemic. Miss the food. I couldnt agree more about safety. So right no need to be flashy...I actually have an old cell phone (with a brazilian sim card)I use when out and about so if it is stolen I dont lose my main phone. I have a hidden pouch with some money in it my pants and a fake wallet with maybe 50 reis in it so if im robbed they get the fake wallet rather than the real one. Another tip I have is to take uber or taxi from place to place even if it is a short distance...

hi Jess, I am from Sao Paulo, in case AA books to stay at Melia Jardim Europa hotel you'll be close to Ofner which has coxinha, pao de queijo and lots of things that you'll go crazy, not to mention the restaurants around there, at Itaim Bibi district, pasta, japanese, seafood and even greek. Use Uber in Sao Paulo it works perfefctly. Around Marriott Renaissance there are lots of restaurants as well. Happy 2022, Fabio

Jessie you looks so pretty always elegant and very charismatic also your friend is so adorable I used to live in Sao Paulo 20 yrs. ago during the min 13:33 I remember this place that's the IBM building but not sure if today still belonging to the same company . Sao paulo people are very nice city has a lot of wonderful malls and great restaurants very good food but their prices are ridiculous expensive when you go to a nice place and anywhere everywhere needs to pay for parking malls garage charge by the hour but yes the city is not safe I know so many people who had their phones stolen and jewelry too the traffic is terrible and the worse scared thing are the gigantic number of small motorcycles (125cc)all over the place cutting corners and getting between cars during the traffic people told me when you see two guys together riding on motorcycle wearing backpack and face covered run because they are criminals ready to strike you like a snake . Subway in Sao paulo is awesome and modern by the way Thanks for another wonderful video Jessie !!!!
