I think what makes a bunch of those “1-2” lines so enjoyable is that he’s almost going into triplets from a 4 (or 2) count. Almost like “1-2-3 1-2-3” played out as “1-2-break 1-2-break.” His playful precision with triplets and syncopation are always what captivate me the most… not even touching on his rhyming and actual messages. Just brilliant.

I'm a 60 year old woman, smoked my way through the 70s. This music now embodies what we were were restrained from then. Our music rock and hard rock was awesome but left out our frustration and focused on drugs and sex. It was residue from the 60s with the government and elitists trying to continue to control. Political opposition in music at the time was good but way to calm folk stuff for many of us. This new rap, unencumbered by record labels and puppet master money is birthing everything several generations of non puppets have felt. Throw in God, faith and warrior and finally we are home.
@carsonbeall81092 жыл бұрын
Ever heard of Punk?
@phillipstroll73852 жыл бұрын
Apparently you were too smoked out to hear the protest rock of the decade. It was all political. These days is all racial and all fake as hell. For some reason thugs put in a big show of how scary they believe themselves to be. All while getting locked up in record numbers. All while making fun of the hillbilly so seldomly heard about taking one another out. Do you know why? Because one whom does doesn't advertise. There is no bigger thug than a Democrat in a suit. Maybe go back and remind yourself of 60s protest rock. Like: Buffalo Springfield for what it's worth. About the police beating kids over free label music, curfews and no freedom in the land of the free. The band, Sam Cook, Bob Dylan, Lou Reid, so so so many more
@rettahenshaw39872 жыл бұрын
@@phillipstroll7385 there were some but I appreciate the same spirit of rebellion in the music now. But outside of a few bands I can only go back and listen to certain favorites of mine. But I didn't turn 13 until 1975 so I'm sure I missed a lot. But even at a younger age I was aware of the puppet master's purposes to make the war a disaster and turn our soldiers into villains to their LSD government fed youth. Nothing new under the sun. What we have lived through with the gov. using our youth and rewritten history to destroy America is the same old divisive garbage it always was. They hate freedom.
@phillipstroll73852 жыл бұрын
@@rettahenshaw3987 well you're half right. The government didn't feed lsd to the youth. We were prevented from taking a legal drug because WE used it to enlighten ourselves and drop out of participating in the economy. When we stopped working and buying government lost multiple billions in labor taxes, sin tax, gas tax, pink tax, grocery taxes, state taxes, wheel taxes, etc etc etc. They could no longer send Russia the 200 million dollars a year in tax money they paid them to pretend they're was a child war and they were the enemy. Lsd wasn't made illegal because it was dangerous to us. It was made illegal because it was dangerous to government. Also, let's be honest here. Soldiers do NOT defend freedom. The constitution does. Soldiers kill to make lobbyists and politicians more wealthy. They do not defend freedom nor do they defend the constitution. If they did every US soldier would rush the offices of Google, Facebook, Twitter and Fauci. All of which accept tax dollars therefore are NOT private companies. The cia didn't start trafficking drugs until the 80s. Not until they became illegal and Joe Biden wrote the drug crime bill. Before then there was no reason to traffick drugs because there was no gang and black market need for drugs. We used drugs to expand our horizons. Not to pretend to be emotionally and mentally broken. I remember when meth was a daily vitamin taken by factory peice workers. Today it's speed to be the end of all that's holy. The drug hasn't changed. The people have. Somehow (through propaganda and the deliberate dumbing down of Americans treaty signed with Russia to institute common core education into American schools in 1980) and the president's New Freedom Commission on Hental Health to have every child attending public school on antidepressants and convincing healthy people they are sick act which began in 1976) our DNA has devolved in evolution from being mentally and emotionally healthy to mentally and emotionally dysfunctional in one generation. How is that when evolution exists and operates to evolve not devolve. It isn't possible. That's the answer. It's propaganda and agenda. I agree, I love Tom's message. I just wish society was capable of understanding it in a more inclusive way than rap. For rap is as conformist as tattoos and Starbucks. They just don't know it. Lol
@rettahenshaw39872 жыл бұрын
