I’ve seen you crush so many wild routes (slab or otherwise) in these shoes. For me, the Evolv TRAX rubber never edged or stuck as well as some of the other rubber brands on the market, so I’ve always been curious if before you became an Evolv athlete you tried other brands and gravitated to Evolv, or if there was another reason you chose them (such as they fit your foot shape particularly well or something? I realize this could be a bit of a rude/sensitive question, so I definitely understand if you don’t respond, but I’ve always wondered if you would be able to push even harder (particularly on hard slab) if you had Stealth or Vibram equipped shoes?

@@jacobgaylord9277 hiii. Yeah I actually really like the Evolv Oracles and feel like I climb really well in them!! Ive tried other brands (before I was sponsored by Evolv) and found that my foot didn’t fit a lot of the shoes that people recommended. And especially for slab, I had trouble finding a shoe that was good for both edging on tiny crystals and smearing alike. Its like I need this medium zone of stiffness, sensitivity, and edge that requires an all-around shoe. I sometimes put a midsole on my shoes when I resole them which helps with technical edging. But yeah, oracles are my favorites hands down

I'm actually a pit surprised you don't consider yourself good at slab, Louis. I feel like slab is actually quite dynamic, it's just dynamic in a more balancey way. I.e. if you watch the Johnny Dawes no-handed slab videos, you can see how it's all very dynamic. The addition of hands just gives you a little more margin for error so you can do it on much smaller holds.
