Rocco Rado is one of mt carmels memorable grave names ive past it so many times and always wondered.. the big grave is kind of sinking actually it leans more and more every year, i now know the tale thanks to you sir as always.....i went to maryhill a few hours ago and left Tricia Pacaccio fresh roses ...her story is still stinging inside my friend i cant get over it.....im also thinking of puttin some plexi over the broken stained glass window in the kersten mausoleum at rosehill,cant do any harm and it will keep out the critters and protect it from gettin more broken.you have really motivated me and im gonna run it by the groundskeepers just to make sure i dont get in trouble....ordered myself a black tee and a purple hoodie ,dude the green lettering is so cool to me i cant wait

This cemetery has the most post mortem photos than any other I have visited. May God keep all these resting 🙏 people in his loving arms of protection 🙏 and bless you Ron for your kind nature that shines thru in every video you film. You look very nice today. I found Dominick Rado's cemetery record on FamilySearch.org (which is free) and his cause of death is listed as "chronic myocarditis." There's a curious note added to his line in the records and written in pencil that I think says "raised and sunk" or "rained and sunk" dated 7/29/36. He was living at 2614 W. Huron Street at the time he died.
@FacesoftheForgotten3 жыл бұрын
ty, some one just gave us that, but not the "raise or sunk" hmmm. ty.
@pamelabugh18123 жыл бұрын
I have seen the term "raised and sunk" or "heaved and sunk" when describing a Person's last breath. Perhaps there was an inquiry into his death a few years after he died, and the note was added after the Witnesses or Medical Personnel were questioned.

I love the photo dissolves from "back in the day" to the present time. It shows how cemeteries that are well-kempt can really be kind of timeless. I have often considered how long some of the items on the mausoleum altars or shelves have been sitting there and how the area around the cemeteries have changed while the cemeteries stay the same to a greater or lesser extent. I also notice that the "dissolve" at the end of this video has a new element (if I am not mistaken) that Ron has incorporated into it. That being his superimposing himself into the vintage photo that is being dissolved into from our time to then. Nice!

0:05 The fade out of yesteryear and the fade in of you walking up present day is always magical. The stones being there through all that time. 0:50 What a beautiful mausoleum! All those spires. I don't know what else to call them. Just lovely. 2:39 I didn't remember him committing suicide. I will look at the video. 4:13 Beautiful and graceful. 4:50 These really are beautiful markers. I like the metal alloy ones. Whatever they combine makes for a long lasting and non-rusting material. 7:20 I agree. Probably the better side. May have had an injury on the other side or discoloration on the other side and it might have been easier on the eyes for a profile photo to be done. 9:24 Those 2 angels are beautiful. 10:10 and 10:40 Beautiful. 14:30 So unfortunate the pretty angel is broken. 14:50 That monument really stands out. 17:58 Dominick died on Christmas Eve. That made Christmas very sad each year I'm sure. I hope she can find out more about how Dominick passed and about the history of Robert. So sad about Joseph dying in the train wreck. 21:59 The music is always so beautiful and special. Such a thoughtful and magical and beautiful end to the story and the video. This is another one I must show my Mom.

How you honored this family. If they would have know the future of that photo--they couldn't have understood it. Ron, my Great-grandfather worked for the railroad as well, and died in 1902 (I think it was) when a train fell on him and crushed him to death. The Mormon genealogy records stated that his oldest Son was just 4, which would be my Grandfather. Been trying to find a newspaper clipping or obituary for him, but thus far no luck. Those guys who worked at the railroad had a hard job that was oftentimes dangerous if not fatal. Bless their hearts. Rest in Peace. And thanks to the family for being so kind to allow us to see her ancestors pictures. Those photos are true treasures and priceless and it's an honor to be able to have a glimpse into their lives, and see the way they were

I know that I've written about this before, but in addition to your normal way of telling a story and bringing "life" to the stories of those who've passed, that is SO COOL how you find a picture of a gravestone from the early 1900's and slowly merge it to a shot of how it looks today. You take the time to get the angle, distance and perspective to perfectly match (no easy job, I'm guessing!). Very well done - thank you for your attention to detail.
