It's no secret that I'm not a big fan of the new Adidas Predator Edge. While I like a lot of the ideas behind the design, the overall execution, and certainly the comfort, just isn't up to the standard that I expect from a top-end football boot. Here's the thing about the Predator Edge, its design is inspire by the 2012 Predator LZ, a football boot that I am a fan of. 10 years later, the Predator LZ is back, sort of.
In today's video we take a closer look at the latest Adidas remake in the Predator LZ 1, as part of the new Unite Football pack. Back in what is basically an inverted David Beckham signature colorway, these remakes feature the classic Hybrid Touch synthetic upper of the LZ, but the modern soleplate taken from the Predator Edge.2 takedown model! How does the modern Predator Edge compare to the 10 year old design it was inspired by? I answer that question and more, as we discuss whether or not Adidas has truly improved Predator series since 2012. Which one would you prefer to wear, the Predator Edge or LZ?
