It's called the inland taipan for a reason. It lives well inland in the Simpson desert. Nobody lives there. So it's most unlikely for anyone to ever be bitten in the wild unless you're on a remote 4x4 trip to see the Big Red sand dune. Its habitat is nowhere near Uluru in south west NT, btw. South western Qld, n.w. NSW, ne South Australia & south eastern Northern Territory are its natural range. The eastern taipan is more of a threat because they also live where people live. North east NSW to Cape York. But the 2 most dangerous snakes to Australians are the brown snake and the tiger snake, not the most potent in venom strength, but by far more common in areas that people actually live. Even in Brisbane and Sydney they have brown snakes, and Melbourne has both brown snakes and tiger snakes.

Best to practice extreme social distancing when encountering any deady snake. They should only be handled by professinal's, no exceptions. They will try their hardest to avoid you but you must also put an effort into respecting their personal space too.
