GameStop employee here (SGA): I feel your pain, Matty! I wish our company could do better than sending scratched up discs and games without boxes (or generic boxes). A couple things about our trading process that might help you better understand why this happens. 1. When a customer trades in a game, we are to inspect the game to see if the disc passes our trade-in standards, and this is a subjective thing for the most part. 2. If a game is significantly scratched in our opinion, then we can take the trade, but we are supposed to label it as defective. This is then shipped to a local warehouse to try and repair the disc. However, this process might not happen if you have employees who think it is fine to trade in (and sell) a severely scratched disc. 3. If a customer trades in a game without the box, then we have to put it in a generic box. I am not sure why the Rayman game was sent without a box; that shouldn't have happened IMO. I take this video as great feedback to help me make sure the games I trade and sell are in the best condition possible, and I hope your next roulette goes a LOT better!

@@Archradox I absolutely agree with you! I think they need to rebuild their online shopping infrastructure. I think a good approach would be giving buyers an option to choose between: lose copy (disc/cartridge only), disc/manual only, disc/case only, complete in box. But I don't think we will ever see that day... So yeah... At least we get funny and entertaining mystery roulette videos!

Literally all GameStop has ever needed to do is make a transparent system for classifying the completeness of trades. It would solve so many problems, for consumers and them as a company.

thats kind of an inventory nightmare for them. They could do it for retro games since the stock is lower, they could have two listings, complete and disc only, and only take in complete ones that have the full box and manual, everything else be disc only. But thats too much work for them too.

Co-worker and I were JUST talking about this option today! For retro I think it's a possibility, but it would have to be very is-or-isn't. They don't have room to have many condition categories for great, light damage, moderate damage, disc only. It would have to be cib or not, regardless of perfection.

I get stickers off easily. I bought Goo Gone Pens from walmart. Its basically like a Tide To Go Pen but it works so good, just run the pen across it for it to get wet and it will peel off.

CEX here in australia is starting to sell games with printout cases, and usually I wouldn’t have too much of an issue because it’s at least better than the generic preowned cases that EB games use but it’s the fact that they charge the same price for a copy with a printout case compared to a genuine case copy

Sin and punishment star successor is a really fun game. It’s almost like a rail shooter but you have control of your character to move around the screen to dodge attacks. Great couch co-op game. I had this on my to get lost for a long time. I just got my copy during a July 4th sale from DKoldies of all places. They had it for $3.00 under price charting and I got to pick a second game with 50% off. Ha it took me 1.5 hours to find these 2 games that weren’t price gouged.

It's very cozy to watch these mystery game videos, even if a lot of the games you get are kinda crap haha, some of themI liked though, like I remember staying up late playing Dead Space Extraction on the Wii with one of my best friends because he had the other Dead Space games. Those were better obviosuly, but it was nice to play a fun unique spinoff even though it was on rails. It was the expreince with spending time with said friend :)

Hey dude with stickers, I recommend using glass/wood polish and a micro fibre cloth, take the art work out and spray it and leave it for about 2 minutes. All the sticker will come right off. Here in Britain we have something called mr Sheen, if you guys have that too, id highly recommend.

Getting incomplete/disc only copies is honestly what you expect because Gamestop refuses to ever guarantee you will get any game from them in perfect--or even suitable--condition, but if they drop the ball, get them to rectify it. You should never have to pay for their mistake of leaving things out of the order.

LEGO Indiana Jones the original adventures was a total win, Complete in box with original ps3 case in good condition with box art and Manual! Lego Batman and Lego Star Wars the complete saga were both also complete in box with manuals! So that was 3 total wins! The last one was Lego Indiana Jones 2 the adventures continue, and it was a miss with a generic black case with no manual but it did have the box art so not as bad as the Sly cooper game. But Lego Indiana Jones 2 was only $5 so I can't really complain about it with such a good price.

Remove the cover art from the case and soak the sticker with lighter fluid, let it soak for a minute and then peel it off.

Bleach Shattered Blade brings back memories. Sucks you could get a complete in box. It wasn't a good game but it came out when I was really into Bleach since the series had recently come over to the US. I still have my copy I got on release. If you don't have them would track down Bleach Blade of Fate and Bleach Dark Souls on the DS. They were treasure developed fighting games and were really fun.

For the past two weeks I've been stopping by physically inside the GameStop stores and asking them is anyone traded in any PS2 or game cube they never have them out on the shelf It's always good to ask cuz you never know I came up on silent Hill 4 I came up on Grand theft Auto collection on the original Xbox I came up on Hunter the reckoning on GameCube and Mario toadstool golf on GameCube. I've also been picking up some PS3 and Xbox 360 games complete of course . Also got legacy of Goku 2 and 3 for the GBA incomplete.

I got resistance 1-3 from them recently. 1 and 2 were clearly owned by someone who took care not to mess with them and keep them relatively clean. 3 WAS A DISASTER. The guide book was wrinkled, frayed and stained with.... who knows what. The disc was scratched like crazy. Pissed me off lol but 2 for 3 ain't so bad with gamestop

Just ordered 7 PS1 games from game stop. No manuals or original cases, all blank dvd cases not even ps2 style cases with memory card slots, not even pre owned slips. I got 2 copies of the same game instead of another game I order, one game doesn’t play and the double they sent me the first disc is snapped from them cramming 4 discs into a single dvd case. Lol definitely a big fail.

GameStop is selling graded sports cards they are on their last legs and this delivery is hard evidence. But Matt you got some banger games that you kinda shrugged off. Dead space and sin and punishment are probably the 2 best light gun type games on the Wii. If you are in the mood to break out that system or a Wii U if you have it, seriously each 10 hours of extreme fun gaming ✌️✌️✌️ I’m on a Wii collection kick right now and those were 2 of my top grabs. Maybe break out the Wii sometime, last story and pandoras tower might make great videos for the Nintendo fans
