@Skicathon that's what I hope for too. Since Dana showed interest in writing a spin-off comic series. Not to mention how we made Disney regret their mistake in messing with the Owl House series. Two when Eda was still in Hexside when she was younger before she left and started selling human garbage for many years. As a start, along with restoring at least some of the original plans Dana had

I can forgive the unwillingness to kill because Disney wouldn't let good guys do that, but they should've been prepared to die because the Day of Unity was a death trap anyway. And as for using Hexside students, it would've given the rebels a force that wouldn't be affected by the spell and could stand up to Belos' army. I don't know why so many people insist on overemphasizing that not-particularly-funny "joke". On its own, it's subtle and witty and just the right amount of bitter, but everyone's been hammering it in so hard for so long that now it just feels obnoxious We get it! Corporations suck! This show deserved better, and so did Spectacular Spider-Man and Wander Over Yonder! But at least they happened! Thanks to Disney, The Owl House was made, and had access to a lot of talented people who turned it into something truly magical and ground-breaking, and received enough attention to amass a large and passionate fanbase full of skilled fanfic-writers. No matter how brilliant Dana Terrace is, she couldn't have made The Owl House what it is without help, and I'm grateful that Disney was willing to provide that help after Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon turned her down, because two-and-a-bit seasons are better than none. I think it's a lot more fun to enjoy the show and its fanfiction and appreciate what makes it so great than to rage endlessly about how it got cut short.

@crazytuffandco.2 жыл бұрын
I think the line "we have all the time in the world" is that Luz was focused on the fact that they didn't have time before the draining spell throughout the episode and basically not allowing herself time to calm down or relax. Eda's trying to put that worry out of Luz's head, just for a moment.

Lilith is a bit of a pain in this one, but I can see where she's coming from. Codes: "Seething seas and puppet strings. He no longer dreams of Kings. As above rush darkened skies. As below his" "SEEK THE KEY, FEAR THE LO" As of right now, this is my favorite episode of the show. I feel like it's a bit overlooked, but the emotion with the main three is just... So good in this episode. There's Eda, wanting to protect her kids and keep them away from the Day of Unity at all costs. Then there's Luz, who just wants to help. And this all leads to an incredibly emotional fight scene that I never expected to see in Luz vs Eda. All of that is phenomenal. And then there's King. I really enjoy King's development. He started out wanting to be respected and feared as royalty, comes to accept that he really is just a kid and seems all the happier for it, only to then find out that the truth is beyond anything he could've imagined... But it isn't really what he wants anymore. And all of this comes back to the theme of choosing your own destiny the show set up way back in Episode 2. The line "I don't want people to see me as a big scary monster anymore"... That line, right there, is what made him my favorite character. Power, fear, respect... What's all that compared to love and family? I've said before, my favorite part of the show is the whole found family thing with Eda, Luz, and King. All of these characters, there's so much more to them than meets the eye, and I just... Want good things for them.

The whispering voice had a similar tone or cadence to The Collector, but was of course too quiet and distorted to tell for sure. I became positive I had guessed correctly when in 2x12 Belos uses that reflective surface to call upon The Collector. But I thought this all meant that Luz was going to have the mental connection with The Collector after spending time in the same realm they were in.

Funny you should mention that Steve looks like Mattholomule. Because it turns out that Mattholomule and Steve are half-brothers!

The code word for this episode is 'His', leaving the message at "Seething Seas and Puppet Strings, He No Longer Dreams of Kings. As Above Rush Darkened Skies, As Below His-" -only two left to go! Also Eda says that kids deserve one more nice/normal day and so we get the last full intro for season two :( And yeah, King hugging the rib is so Fucking Ouch. Also the way that King says 'meow meow' is exactly the way that Luz said it all the way back in the very first episode of season one, when she revealed her cat ears hoodie.

19:55 this scene reminds me so much of Simba laying next to Mufasa’s body in the Lion King. “Dad, dad come on, you gotta get up. Dad, we gotta go home.”

This is my favourite episode. Everything in the fight scene was beautiful. It gives me goosebumps every time.

Steve and Mattholomule are half-brothers. Dana described their relationship as positive, saying that "despite their age difference and distance with Steve's job, Matt looks up to him, hence the haircut". Mattholomule and Steve's relationship was originally intended to form a minor plot thread in the show. However, this was mostly cut due to the third season being shortened

My reaction to the title of this video: They fight now! They fight now? *They fight now*

Another reason why edas plan was just to keep them safe. Luz was supposed to be home by now, and eda feels the way Luz does and feels like she was the one who got her stuck in this mess. And with no portal door she can't force Luz to go home to saftey because she has no way too.

"We have all the time in the world" is just a turn of phrase that means "Take your time, don't rush."
@unvoicedapollo33182 жыл бұрын
The phrase "we have all the time in the world" is just eda saying something to keep Luz relaxed and focused on the palisman rather than worrying about everything going on around her. All the magic she has learned has come from paying attention and focusing on what she wants to do rather than thinking about external forces. The same goes for making her palisman.

26:16 Steve was confirmed to be his brother (or maybe they were half brothers, I don’t remember). It was going to be brought up in an episode, but it was cut when the show had to be shortened.

I always got the sense that the "all the time in the world" line was the writers trying to reassure us that they had time to conclude the show in a satisfying way despite the cancelation. Might just be me though.

the all the time in the world thing that eda says in my mind is just to reassure luz so she can focus on carving rather than stressing about the apocalypse in 48 hours

I feel like the last line of the episode is kinda like the equivalent of someone telling you its gonna be alright, even if it doesn't feel like it :) And crikey! You're almost at the finale, wow!

33:35 I believe she's saying that, to emphasize that she shouldn't rush carving her palisman. She's "got all the time in the world," so she should take it slow, and carve what she feels is right. There's no pressure to just carve something. Just plenty of time to carve the right thing.

10:30 I picked it up ever since season 1, it was one of my favorite dynamics and relationship besides Lumity. This show does the found family trope so well that I believe Eda actually became a second mom to Luz and a really good mother for King. I am definitely gonna miss seeing this dynamic on screen. This is actually one of my favorite episodes because of how much they show Eda's development in her relationship with her kids.

Lilith's reaction to King is pretty understandable - her mom neglected her and she spent most of her formative years working her way up in the toxic Emperor's Coven. Plus the guilt of cursing Eda. Expecting her to know what "normal" is may be too much to expect. And as much as I love Hooty, what does it say about Lilith when she is the only character that truly bonds with him... errr, her?... Them? It? WTF is Hooty anyway?

I'm so used to this show ending on such a downer note, but this episode finally gives us some good news to close us out. It doesn't last long.

When cricky happens it will break them. Eda was being a parent in the moment doing what her dad did when they made Owlbert. Luz is her daughter and she wants to help her every way she can. Dana confirmed outside the show that Steve is Bartholomew's older brother.

I always figured that Pre-Belos titan worship was more like old time nature worship. But him being a puritan psycho it probably burned his ass even more that the Isles citizens didn't follow a monotheistic religion so he started the whole "I speak for the Titan" B.S. to elevate it to a god and after 3-4 generations of indoctrination here we are with poor Lilith.
@Alfwin2 жыл бұрын
I'd never considered that, but I love that idea! The Titan is _literally_ the land that these people live on, and if there's one thing that's deserving of being worshiped and revered, it's the land on which you grow your food and make your homes. It's probably safe to assume that, before Belos came along, the "will of the Titan" that people obeyed was simple maintenance of the natural ecosystems that exist on the Isles, caring for the land so that the land might care for them in return. But of course Belos has perverted that for his own twisted ends.

I like to call that realm "The Inbetween" based off of Belos' (I refuse to call that monster by his human name) notes in his journal curtesy of the Echo Mouse. EDIT: Also, mark of a great cartoon. There's things for kids to appreciate and things for adults to appreciate.
