I have the traveller escape mark III. 2 years with it now. I bought a small Nux mighty air. Little amp rules with the wireless transmitter too. Regardless, I can stand on a corner and perform with the amp clipped to the strap on a carabiner. I can walk around in the subway, or just down the street while playing. I have skied with it as well and there will be a movie coming out in the ski industry where I can be seen skiing down the slopes while rocking out and getting all kinds of crazy looks from the tourists I was skiing past. I can literally jam anywhere any time on the street or in the park. The NUX mighty air amp fits in the outer pocket of the gig bag that came with the guitar. Solid padded gig bag as well. I have flown with it about 10 times now, never had a problem to get it on the plane. And like Sean said, I can fit it anywhere in the overhead no matter how much ridiculous sized bags you usually see in those bins. I used the head phone jack in flight and practiced on the plane on international flights. Just tapping and not even plucking or strumming you get great sound through the headphones. Nobody on the plane can hear a thing, not even the person sitting next to you. All the time I am in the terminals waiting for planes and layovers I pass the time with this guitar. Tons of questions when I had it out. So many people asking what kind of instrument it is and obviously more professional questions when guitarists ask about it. After two years the guitar still plays great, I have probably had close to 50 people over the years take a picture of it when I had it out and or write down the name. I wish I could of had a commission or an employee discount to buy another one of these guitars for all the questions I answered. I think I want another one in a different style soon. Biggest complaint is restringing it. Takes some getting used to. But that is why the design is so slick. The first time I did it I clipped all the strings off and after clipping the last string I learned the hard way that it's easier and recommended to leave at least one string on the guitar while changing out the strings. The rollers and the spacers scattered all over the floor, under the table, under the couch in the dogs mouth etc. Then I was confused on how they went back on and had to look up pictures on the website to make sure they weren't supposed to be in a certain order. Seems self explanatory but it really wasn't something I intuitively paid attention to. Ok, Next complaint is actually getting used to restringing it which is the same as my first complaint but not specific to the rollers but still basically changing strings. Its hard to figure out how much string to leave on and takes some getting used to to get the string locked and started while keeping some tension when you are basically doing this with the guitar upside down. If you have a strap it's best to remove the strap if you are restringing since you literally have to flip the guitar over and back a few times through the process. I also got mixed up when your trying to make sure you have all the strings entering the tuning pegs in the correct order, on the correct sides so that all the tuning pegs are turning your stings in the same direction when strung correctly. Seems obvious but when you are doing it for the first time it can feel confusing. A friend of mine broke a string while playing it and put on a replacement but the string he strung was backwards to all the other strings, so that tuning peg turned the opposite for tightening and loosening compared to the other 5 strings. LOL I was too lazy to restring it so I just got used to it until the next time I restrung the guitar. I'm also starting to get a hum anytime I plug it into any thing. I tried different chords, amps, PA's, boards, interfaces and I constantly have a hum until I touch the Patch cables metal at the insert to the guitar. Played around with everything I possibly could. Maybe it's something that needs to be grounded? I tried to tighten all connections and wiring but I think the nut at the TRS jack in the guitar loosens up once in awhile as they do on most guitars. I think I need to open up the other parts on the electronics of the guitar and see that everything is still connected the way its supposed to and nothing loosened up over the years. It only just started happening about 1 year into the guitars life, but I never had that issue before. Maybe the guitar has seen enough use and traveled around so much and has a had a few bumps and bruises that knocked something loose? With all that being said, I love this guitar and it has more than paid for itself in just 2 years. It has intuitively made me practice more just because I take it with me more than I did my other traditional guitars. One of my favorite things is that I can sit in tiny spaces and play without restricted movement. Sitting on the couch with this thing just cradled in your lap while you watch a movie or whatever. You don't even know its there. It fits so nicely in your lap and you don't feel hunched over a big Dreadnoght body, or a heavy electric in your lap with a headstock sticking out into the face of the person sitting next to you. Totally worth the money. I would buy it again. And I look forward to maybe adding another one from the line to my quiver. Really amazing for the money when compared to the other options on the market but as Sean said, This thing most resembles the way a guitar feels and plays compared to it's competition.

Why wouldn’t a travel guitar have locking tuners?! Travel instruments should be about portability and speed. This is a major oversight in my opinion.

Benn traveling with my Traveler Guitar since 2016. When it comes to restringing your Traveler it's best to watch the KZbin video that Traveler recommends. By the way I've taken my traveler on budget airlines and I have never been asked to pay an additional fee. I love my Traveler. It was my first guitar as at the time I was homeless and needed a guitar I could take anywhere and practice. Absolutely love it an always travel with it.

Can you tell us more about taking guitars on airplanes? I’ve always wondered if you have to slack or tighten the tension due to differences of air pressure. Especially interested if there is a difference for acoustic guitars. Are they more tender, so to speak, with air travel?

I've traveled across the US, Spain and France by plane train and automobile, and bringing this guitar has been a great way to be able to scratch my play guitar itch while traveling. I use it with a Spark Go. The main reason I'm looking to upgrade is just missing a tone knob and volume knob. Yeah I can work around it in the Spark, but I miss having responsive guitar controls at hand. And hey, Traveler makes slightly larger, slightly heavier guitars that do have that. I'm going to try an EG-1 vs a Donner Hush-X, and a Spirit Steinberger

The best headphone amp for this is the Boss Pocket GT. I've had one for a year now, and it makes my Traveler sound (through a pair of small headphones) like my full sized guitar through my regular amp and pedals,...and I play Heavy Metal! Plus it fits in the gig bag with ease.

Not ULTIMATE at all.... Put in Furch's Little Jane detachable neck setup (cuts down size, allows putting amp output where it normally sits), use comfortable detachable body arches (mixing Hush/Yamaha Silent Guitar/Snapdragon's Snapaka). Add option for Strat like they did at Travelguitar's Travelcaster.
