It's canon that Inquisitors are weak as shit since most of them were either Padawans or Rookie Knights at best while Ahsoka is a battle hardened veteran who fought through the entirety of the Clone Wars and was personally trained by both Anakin and Obi-Wan, two of the greatest Jedi in the history of the order. As such it's not that surprising she killed him so easily.

But, new info mentioned that the Inquisitor that Ahsoka fought in Tales of the Jedi turns out to be the First Brother. I guess making him the First Brother when we saw him in Barris Offee's story in early Inquisitors years in Tales of the Empire makes more sense to make him the First Brother. He had to give permissions for a lot of things in the old EU he put references to EU material in the special editions and took a lot of things from the EU and put them in the prequels like coruscant, aayla secura, dash rendar's ship etc. He also wrote a few forewords for EU books like splinter in the minds eye which do imply he took the continuity somewhat serious.

The first brother is a such a cool concept, for years I thought that they could reintroduce Galen Marick/Star Killer as the first brother under the grand inquisitor but Ig that would be unfair to his EU counterpart. However In the Kenobi show we see a lightsaber that resembles Marick’s. My idea is that Galen Marick was the original Grand Inquisitor in canon but he had a change of heart and went on the run as became the founding member of the “Hidden Path” in the new canon, similar to how he started the rebellion in Legends.

Dave Filoni is talented, but I think he’s the one responsible for screwing up the continuity. He has stated that the 6th episode of Tales of the Jedi was meant to be an adaptation of the Ahsoka novel. Which means that inquisitor was meant to be the Sixth Brother. Just with a new design. The inquisitor’s design wasn’t the only thing he changed for the story. Why he just ignored certain details of the Ahsoka novel, which he signed off on years prior, we’ll probably never know. He also retconned details of the Kanan comics with the first episode of Bad Batch. It seems to me like the books coming out after Tales of the Jedi are just other authors and creators trying to clean up Filoni’s mess.

@rebelcommander7starwarsjur922 I wouldn’t call Bad Batch bad necessarily just mediocre as a whole but it does quite a lot of things I do not like or can stand which is why I prefer just to erase it from canon in my head. Which is a shame because it has 2-3 absolutely mind blowing amazing episodes. But the rest just isn’t worth it. I ranked every visual Star Wars media project a while back and I think I recall ranking Bad Batch in the 14th spot for me which was the very last rank of things I didn’t mind before an extreme drop to the 15th place which was things I started to really really dislike and think are bad so at least Bad Batch was above that cutoff haha. But yeah love the idea of Omega but that’s really all I liked. Absolutely despised the canon inconsistencies that make better stories worse in this version like with Kanan at the start and Asaj where there was also no point to either it was just a ham fisted cameo for no reason putting much better stories into question about canon. The characters were all cliche stereotypes to the extreme that made it a hard watch for me. Hated the very predictable all good black and white storytelling and ending. Filoni has often had that problem which is a shame because he can make really heartfelt emotional impact endings and complex stories but his insistence to do basic bland stuff is a waste and ridiculous at points. He wants every protagonist to be a good guy and good guys have to stay good. The clones should not be rebels. There should not be an entire clone movement that was independently developed. Legends handled the transition and all these stories much better. Blowing up Kamino was stupidly ridiculous. They also made Palpatine’s ideas super stupid and wasteful making him look dumb with the treatment of his military. It’s now insane how is it even believable this guy could keep in power? He’s not smart at all. I can get into details about each of these things and much more but I don’t want to waste your time I’ve probably already taken too much up of haha. But yeah Bad Batch had potential and could’ve been amazing, exploring the inner turmoil and conflict of clones as they served the empire and brought about peace finally in a smooth transition. But Filoni wanted to tell yet another rebels show and really struggles to write complex stories themes or characters.

My guess is the numbering system for Inquisitors doesn't have any actual structure or reasoning other than to confuse enemies about the exact number of them in the Empire

Actually it’s the opposite the first brother was killed then the 6th but that time she took the crystals. Also I ALWAYS knew he was different it’s what I’ve nicknamed a canon repeat. They keep doing this in Star Wars it’s really weird but I don’t really mind it at this point lol
