it's very big of you to not lay blame with Virgin. However you entrusted them to handle your bag. They owe you, at the very least, a nice future cruise credit.

Actually, you hand over your bag to the longshoremen who work for the port, not to employees of the cruise line. These individuals are supposed to then deliver your bags to the cruise ship where the line's personnel take over. Technically, the cruise line was not responsible.

J, so happy that your bag was finally located! Because of what happened to you, I am taking along an extra backpack with undies, bathing suits, and some extra clothes for hubby and me whenever we cruise in the future. We always make sure our bags are tagged with the luggage tags the cruise line furnishes and we always tip the porter. Bimini is my favorite Bahamian Island, but it's very small. I first went there when I was 14, that was 60yrs ago. The ocean water was so clear that it looked like boats were floating in air. I had my first beer ever in a bar there called the Famous Door on Queens Highway. If you were tall enough to hand your money to the bartender, you were legal. The people were so friendly and contented. I've been back quite a few times on boat trips or on Chalks Seaplane when they flew from Port of Miami. I'm glad to see Cruise Ships docking there, but it's a really small place so I hope it doesn't get too spoiled.

So glad they found it! We were on Scarlet Lady in September & will be on Valiant in December. I love that the rooms are ready when you board so there is no need to check your bags. I don’t check luggage at airport either, but I still throw an AirTag in my suitcase just in case I have to gate check it

That is great news, Jay! This is where I suggest having travel insurance that covers lost baggage so that you can get reimbursed for any expenses. I don't trust the cruise lines. My coworker told me her sister's suitcase was lost by Princess. They accidentally dumped it over overboard when it was being unloaded and it was at the bottom of the ocean, last she heard. It took time to get compensation for that. But yeah losing my luggage is my fear.

The Bahamas and the carribean is very nice in off season. It is quiter and more laid back due to less people so it's more relaxing and chill. Have a great time Jay and Lauren. BON VOYAGE.

Hooray for Jay's bag!!!!! I said this in the LAST vlog Jay released "I bet the bag is STILL in the Port of Miami!" Glad that VV found it! Can't wait for Jay to see what condition the bag (and contents?) are in when returning to Miami.... Meanwhile, another great video report. Still not interested in VV anymore. I've seen many vlogs about the ship and other than the food and Drag Queen Shows, don't think this cruise line is for me. For the price, I'd prefer my timeshare exchanges, because the costs are minimal (flier miles for plane tix) and I can eat at the local establishments. For me the best time to travel is mid-November to mid-December and late March to late April. Best weather, not too many crowds, and avoid holiday travel crowds.

Don’t get me wrong. Bimini is a nice place. The ocean is always rough there. To rough but the water is beautiful. If you’re on a budget this might be the worst place to go from a $10 Bud Light can 12 ounce or a $20 hamburger is practically what awaits you when you go to the beach. At least this is what I experienced on the carnival sunrise last year and October. It is a nice island. It’s only 50 miles from Miami and gonna have some money when you go to the Bahamas.

i actually went to bimini on my carnival cruise and there seemed to be nothing to do there if you didnt plan on spending much money. they had like 1 beach at the time and it wasnt very busy. maybe it was because i was with carnival or maybe it was because covid things last year. hope its a bit better next time. glad you had fun tho :)

Don't feel bad, the airline I believe lost John Heald luggage this week on his way to the Carnival Ecstasy's last cruise. They did manage to get it to him when he got to his stateroom. 3 or 4 different flights between his home in England and Mobile, AL. So guess he's lucky. Happy cruising.

Well it’s been a year since your review and they have not improved a single bit. Lost luggage upon disembarking in Athens. No Virgin employee on the ground to assist except to take name and number. Called, emailed, etc. and not a single helpful staff. Far cry from when we were missing a luggage on Disney Cruise where they went out of their way to make sure our suitcase was delivered at the next port.

I've heard that curbside baggage handlers will not place your bags on baggage trolleys to be transported onto the ship if you don't tip them. These baggage handlers should be held accountable.
