Like others have mentioned, this show really relies on the comparison of good/bad attempts for maximum enjoyment, so the clips like this video where a specific thing is being highlighted are almost more for fans who've seen them to relive the moment they are aware of than as an introduction of how the show works. Pick a season, start from episode 1 of it, enjoy! :D As far as season choice goes, if not going from the first one, it may be an idea to check the cast lists and go with one which has some familiar faces in it from other shows you've reacted to. :)

So much of the fun in this show is seeing all 5 contestants trying the same task. Lots of them are time based and the time starts from reading the task so there is effectively no thinking time. Some manage something clever, but often it is just madness, and that is the fun part.

Compilations are fun but for TM I would suggest watching the ‘full task’ videos at least if you don’t do full episodes so you get the benefit of seeing everyone’s attempts. You miss a lot by not seeing the contrast between what each contestant does in many tasks

It's better if you just watch the full shows (maybe you can cut them up into 2 parts or something) alot of the context is shown over the course of everyone's attempts, so when you see just one persons attempt, it can be confusing.

On the first one, there was an extra task they were given earlier that said "when the siren goes off, you have to put on this boiler suit" - but they didn't say when. Something else you'd love is a KZbin series called 'No More Jockeys', it's little Alex Horne from Taskmaster with his good friends Tim Key and Mark Watson, it's basically a game they came up with touring together on the comedy circuit to kill time, it's hilarious and sometimes deviously clever!

It strikes me that one English thing you may have overlooked is ‘Northern Soul’. As the name suggests it started in northern England and it’s movement that started in the sixties. They are into soul music from Detroit but not Motown. The more obscure the better and singles can be sold for thousands of pounds. They have a special way of dancing and there are examples on KZbin. It’s a working class movement and the north was the place for heavy industry, like Detroit. Check it out. They have their own way of dressing too! The singer Duffy’s video to the song Mercy gives some idea, as does the song.

For context on the first clip because no one seems to be explaining it, at the start of that same episode they were told when they heard that exact siren they had to run to the front of the house, put their boiler suit on and then lie on the ground. It was left without the siren going off, until a few tasks later during this one. The intended twist being that contestant's tied their self to a chair, had to untie their self, finish the siren task and then restart the chair task with less than half the time they originally had. Rhod's workaround of the chair also unintentionally worked around the siren task.

Taskmaster I'd say is the best UK comedy panel show thing of the last decade. I would have said Mock the Week, but this fits perfectly on TV without being offensive at all.
