As a native German speaker and person who read the books I’m so happy you’re reacting to this. 🤩 The show is really well made and close to the book and I was surprised to see a German production get this much of positive resonance. I think it only happened once before with Dark on Netflix. On another note, I’m usually a quiet watcher of your videos but you guys have become my fav reactors over the last couple of months (esp. because of TVD) and you’re one of the few reactors who are not afraid to dive into all the genres of shows and movies existing and I really appreciate it. I think he’s just pissed bc she knows something about his sister that clue hurt her and the fact that she can’t be bought really pisses him off bc no one says no to James Beaufort. Fun Fact to everyone: this series was filmed in my home town here in Nordstemmen/Hildesheim/Germany. The castle is called Marienburg castle and it's a touristic attraction here. It's now closed till 2030 due to major restauration. But the set crew got a special permition to film in the castle. I guess they only got permision to film at the right wing of the castle. I read somewhere that it'll cost approx. 30 million (in US 30 billion Euros!). I love this castle. It's gigantic and super pretty, the wood art work is outstanding. It def gives dark academia vibes. But it's not a real school and never was! It belongs to Queen Mary (the castle was named after her). Her husband King Georg V (Erbprinz Ernst August von Hannover) bought it for her as a present. ❤🏰

Yes, James comes of as a total douche but his character development is great and you will definitely stop disliking him at one point. i genuinely think the reason she didn't say anything is that she knows the beauforts are extremely powerful and well connected and she's not so they would not only recover from a scandal like that (cause the teacher's obviously in the wrong), but also make her pay, like maybe make her completely lose her chance at getting into Oxford. it's all about power and influence. also, I don't know if you noticed but even though it's German, it's set in the UK.

The show is actually set in England, but some scenes (e.g. the castle/school) were filmed at locations in Germany. It's not an actual school, though ☺️. I'm not exactly sure why but some German writers, particularly in the teen romance genre, tend to use settings like England or America for their stories. As a German, I think it's really cool that you guys react to the show and the part where you read the German words was really funny. I can't wait to watch the rest of your reactions!

I'm a german speaker as well and usually I hate german productions because of the cheesy dialogue (seriously, it all sounds like a mediocre schoolplay, why is that?!). But in this case, I was hooked from the start, just because of the chemistry of Harriet and Damian. Boy, they acted their hearts out and you can tell. So happy to see you react to this! Also also: Can't wait for Bridgerton SE03 Part 2 :)

I totally agree with you, it definitely has Young Royals vibes. From some of the music, even the way some of the scenes are lit, the story also even though it’s not royalty it’s similar. You can tell it’s slightly copy cat, but I really liked it! I’ve binged it quick! Can’t wait for season two.
