They often launched alone and had to do it no matter the conditions. I took notes and learned a lot in a few weekends. Watching this is like the complete opposite. Great ramps, great conditions, easy to handle boats, trucks with more metal than rust.. and they struggle tremendously. Educational, but in a different way.

@dougsprojects64313 жыл бұрын
@@trhenryvlogs9638 You are correct that a 4 wheel drive can do a little better, but only if there is enough weight on the trailer. When you put any weight on the backend of a vehicle it takes some weight off the frontend. When it is sitting on a hill, it takes weight off the end that is uphill. So, though you do have the front tires helping, it cannot done without the back tires doing the most work. I had an 18 foot Wellcraft at about 3,000 pounds plus camping gear and didn't spin the tires. It has everything to do with how much weight you put on the tongue and how you start off, how much throttle you give it. Around here, where we do most of our boating, the ramps are quite steep (Way more so than in the video here) also we don't have that (Stupid) cobble stone type of concrete, you learn to only put enough trailer in the water to be sure you don't put the tires in the slime. You learn to use the power of the boat to load it onto the trailer were 1/3 to 1/2 of the weight of the boat is on the trailer. Left foot on the break, put it in gear, release the parking break, give it just a tad throttle, just enough to keep the whole rig from rolling backwards, slowly release the break, maybe just a tad more throttle and you're off. My brother did the same with a 82 station wagon and a 1960's Lone Star all aluminum that weighted about the same.

Too true. My parents had a caravan when we were teenagers and we loved reversing onto a site. I later worked as a leadsman, and there's a lot of downtime waiting to meet workmates and boats. That's exactly what we did...practice reversing empty trailers that cannot be seen. I used a very simple technique taught by an old truckie..... In the driver's seat, decide which side you want closest to side of the ramp or pontoon. Drive the car and trailer far enough away to get it nicely lined up with that side. When reversing, you are going to keep your eye on the that same side view mirror. You are going to bias the trailer veering to the right if it goes off course. (you don't want it veering to the left) How to do this? When the trailer veers right, you momentarily slightly turn the steering wheel to the right to correct. This will result in very few micro steering movements, and rarely if ever will you need to drive forward again to try again. For turning corners, realize there's a lag in what the trailer will do in reaction to steering wheel movements....to get the trailer to go right, you turn the wheel left, but it is always gentle small movements....you want to focus on looking at the wheels of the trailer...once the angle of the trailer gets to 45 deg with the car, you need to straighten up. Getting an angle greater than 45 degrees usually requires a restart. For narrower empty jet ski trailers, you need a person outside giving you constant hand signals to stay straight....or a car with reversing camera...or drop the tailgate.

The first thing he will do is off-load extra weight so he can run fast and fight well: so he empties his bladder and vomits up stomach contents. Hopefully all over her. Then he will try to escape so he can run away, I’m sure you can envision what that looks like. He will become snappish and act like a wild-thing, which is what he has become. All this will probably be the pets fault in the owner’s eyes. Yeah, a good time for everyone. P.S If that dog is a Maltese, I’ve had several in my life and none of them liked the water.
