Man.. looking at this interview with Jaz-O it’s obvious why he’s never made it big! I’m going keep it 1000! Jaz is a nice guy, wishy washy dude who had a big ego and a non confrontational personality. In the entertainment industry and life in general that’s a recipe for disaster! You gotta be assertive and make tough choices. See Jigga, Dame Dash, Irv Gotti. Dudes who really all worked for him in the late eighties! He was the guy who had the major record deal with EMI! However, They all got super rich and powerful and Jaz is a side note in the annals of hip hop history! On the flip side Jigga was a nigga with a massive ego who got tired of being disrespected and ignored by the masses and decided that he was going to take shit by any means necessary and never look back! Jay-Z was a dude who obviously did some questionable things to his closest friends that made him a billionaire. I get tired of dudes tap dancing around the Jay Z story. Jay did bitch shit because he wanted to be the King! The stars aligned for Jigga and he got his way. Any person under 50 years old doesn’t know the true history of Jigga and Jaz-O and their rap journey. Jaz O talks in riddles unfortunately about his experiences with Jigga. I never feel like we getting the real story.

Perhaps from Jaz's point of view, when Jay rode with him no contract was needed because it was little shows and little money and no go between like the label, Dame etc. Vice versa, it was big business, the stakes were higher and they weren't tight like as the old days. At the end of the day though, there was a lack of communication between the two and as Jaz said, there were times he didn't even have Jay's contact info. Also, being human, there probably was sone jealousy/envy to see your little man rise all the way to the top.
