I love it. They can play any genre. They always had a few sweet songs before this song. Example: Saturday in the Park & Old Days.

I can't say I remember this one by Chicago, but they are very versatile. Thank you Rob and Harri.

I was there when it came out and I loved it. Another of a killer string of great tracks from America's #1 horn band.

Yes like Calypso Caribbean. Nice. Beautiful arrangements of horns and super balanced. Great work. Still miss the shit out of Terri Kath

Rob - Wonderful submission. My goodness, it has been so long since I last heard this one. Excellent review!

At its release (Chicago X, 1976) "Another Rainy Day in New York City" shared the same album as "If You Leave Me Now," so yes, it was different, but well liked. Of course then, no one yet knew just how big "If You Leave Me Now" would become, or, that the soul of Chicago (Terry Kath) would pass in only two years, forever sealing Chicago's change in direction from the "rock & roll band with horns," to the ballad band.

Chicago always sounded shiny.

Interestingly this was the first single from their "X" album, only then followed by the megahit If You Leave Me Now

Reggae music played in a minor key sounds very different.

Not reggae but salsa. New York has a heavy Puerto Rican population and you are hearing the influence of Latin music

Without the horns Chicago is bollocks. This cut passes.

I can hear horns nicely

Boston has a neighborhood called Jamaica Plain. Sounds like Chicago might too.

The song is about New York City and Chicago does not have a large Jamaican population.

Sorry, but as a die-hard Chicago fan, it's not one of my favorites and shouldn't be on a greatest hits album. I don't hate it but it's just SO not them to me.
