I have most of the SDXs and this is one of their best so far for me.

And it's not too big, half the size of the Jazz Sessions, Stories, Legacy of Rock or Fields of Rock

@@Martin_BernardI understand the saving of hard-drive space, but this isn’t a selling point to me. The more space a library takes up, the more articulations and ultimately, samples are included. Honestly, the bigger the better imo.

@@jackflynn-oakley1937 People don't seem to agree with you, they say the State of the Art is the best Toontrack SDX and it's a lightweight compared to others

@@Martin_Bernard people say everything is the best lol. There’s no objective ‘best’. There’s people out there who’ll die on the hill that Death & Darkness is the best by far… I’ve never heard detail like the Jazz Sessions, to me that’s the ‘best’ sounding one, this one’s absolutely more versatile however. I think the name attached also has consumer bias, as well as this one absolutely still being in the honey moon period. Toontrack also seems to be constantly levelling up, every library is a masterpiece at this point. Plus, I never said that this one ‘isn’t the best’, just that a lighter library absolutely isn’t a selling point for me, quite the opposite.

Jason, I've just liked and subscribed after watching this video - very well done. I am researching which one SDX to buy, to complement the default SD3 Massenberg library. Massenberg has ambient kits well covered, so I'm looking for tighter and dryer kits. Hansa is on my short list especially with the current fall sale, but after reading reviews (pros/cons) and listening to your demos, this Elliot Scheiner library seems best. My favorite is the tight more reverb kit at ~12:45 - simple, clean and tight. Also, the list of projects that Elliot has worked also fits nicely with my musical preferences Thanks again for your timely review.

In retrospect, what I said yesterday about the hihats must be updated. I went through the process of checking all of the settings and it seems that what is bothering me is largely due to the defaults for certain parameters - particularly related to the layers but also a few other settings. Also I'm using an external drive for the samples, so maybe that''s part of why I found much higher settings gave a big improvement.

Are the hihats in this kit any better? I've never been a fan of Superior Drummer's hihats and I have a bit more luck with Fxpansion BFD3 but I own both. Sometimes the realism I experience in BFD is just a bit easier to be fooled by - and I keep waiting for an SDX with that additional realism. I suppose you can say I'm into progressive rock, jazz, and funk sounding hihats so that may be why a bit more realism is necessary, since they won't be drowned out by a wall of distorted guitars in many cases (I like prog, metal, progressive metal and classic rock and world music as well. Not a huge Steely Dan fan but I appreciate their creativity and vibe).

Hey man I was just wondering if you could please help me out with getting the best results from tonex (the software) and amplitibe 5 since I know your regularly in contact with the folks from IK Multimedia (correct me if I'm wrong) I have a Motu M4 audio interface and a Yamaha Pacifica 612 Viii FM guitar and I use FL Studio, in terms of gain staging etc what would be the best practice according to ik multimedia and your experience in order for me to get the best and most accurate results out of pedals and amps in both softwares? If you could please help me out I would really appreciate it because I recently bought them both and nothing seems to be working like it's supposed to and it's driving me crazy over the past few weeks
