Too look at this in a straightforward manner, I'd say the point of Season 3 was to tie up the previous plot lines SO THAT we can now focus on the set-up for Thrawn's return. I'd say Mando's New Republic assignments will be his investigations over the Empire's efforts to rebuild, and his discoveries will be vital to informing the heroes of what's to come.

Nah I think mando isn't gonna be involved much with thrawn I think mando will be put on hold while ashoka sorts out her story and then once ashoka has a second season complete the movie will come back and because his story is tied up he can just be thrown in at any time they'll probably meet while investigating the same things and that's how he'll be in the movie but I think season 4 will be a time skip after thrawn is gone and it'll be about grogu maybe mando dies and he goes off on his own or team's up with vislas kid because they'll both hate the empire for killing their dads

It looks like Grogu is being written to be the next Tarre Vizsla. He’s going the way of Mandalore. Him force sensing the mythosaur is foreshadowing this even further. If they repair the dark saber at this point, it’s probably to save it for Grogu later as it’ll be his when he leads the Mandalorians. Mandalorian is Grogu’s story.

Yup i am expecting grogu to be the next mando or tarre vzsla since he always felt the presence of the mythosaur and in the ending scene of the last episode u can see the mythosaur feeling grogus force touch when he touches the water hes the next mado leader especially since the first mando leader/emperor/king was indeed force sensitive canon wise so it makes sense a fully mature grogu being mandalorian with both the force din djarin adopting him into it so yes the darksaber is meant to be for grogu hence why he can use it but din and bo katan couldnt

I think this season was pretty good. Yes it had some drawbacks but we got to see a live Mandelore! And 2 factions of Mandelorians fighting together. I love The Mandelorian culture and we got to witness Mandelorian history in real time. It was pretty awesome.

Did you not hear what Din said in the canteen on Delphi base? He is going to be taking cases specific from them specifically hunting down more Imperial Remnants. We will probably end up seeing more of the Shadow Counsel members being taken out one after another. And Season three was all about world building and setting up for the future series while also giving us the retaking of Mandalore.

Took them 3 years to create 8 episodes of world building whilst ending the climatic moments almost instantly, taking unexplained shortcuts, having poor fight choreography & not barely providing any character development to the main characters. It just feels like a mess that was caused by behind the scenes stuff at Lucasfilm. Season 2 was a flat out masterpiece, and everything changed after that. They also nerfed both Din and Boba in their own shows, and they don’t feel like the same characters that they were in Season 2. I’m going to go into Ahsoka cautiously optimistic, because BOBF, Kenobi, and Mando Season 3 all deserved to be so much better. I still don’t get how a character like Cassian Andor got 12 HBO quality episodes while Boba Fett, Obi-Wan, and Din Djarin got rushed and cheap feeling messes. It’s not right.

For all the good that filming on location might have done for Andor, it's still leagues more boring and less interesting than the Mandoverse shows, whether or not any of them are as bad as the word around the fandom and the press says they are. So there you go. If a slow-burn Star Wars show could work, then I think Andor is hit-and-miss at best.

The rebuilding of mandalore has been something I’ve been waiting for for a long time and I’d like to see more of that. This season was definitely all over the place but the last episode was good. I wish the whole season had focused more on mandalore then other things, we definitely didn’t need an hour long episode about Pershing.

Even though this season wasn’t the best season 4 could be awesome. Din now has a home, still has his ship, Grogu is now starting to come into his powers more and will be trained to be a warrior and thanks to him helping Bo Katan reclaim the planet of Mandalore he now has access to the Great Forge and all the resources that the planet has to offer.

this season was the end of a larger Story Arc, and a reset for the possibilities going forward. Have you ever noticed that people typically find a conclusion lackluster? At the time People actually complained that return of the Jedi was a let down too, and obviously the rise of Sky Walker was the most criticized of the sequels (not saying it didn’t deserve it for other reasons), and probably the only reason revenge of the sith wasn’t more was because everyone already knew what would happen and exactly what it was leading into.

A happy ending to this season opens up the opportunity to time jump on S4. Which would be cool because it would show us Grogu grown up and wield his force powers to a higher capacity.

In a season 4 opener. I can see a time skip happening where. A teenage sized talking Grogu runs into the cabin to tell Mando something. But he finds him dead from natural causes. He'll fly back to Mandalore to inform them of his death. They'll tell him that he has learned all that he can from Mandalorians. And should seek out other Jedi to further his training with the force.

A teenage sized Grogu would put in him at maybe 250 years old. Din and everyone has been gone for quite sometime. Grogu would be alone. Maybe a really old Ahsoka? I know her species can live a long time. Also in the timeline, the First Order would have come and gone. I see where your head is, but I don't see them doing that.

There have only been 4 circular screen-wipe endings: Ep 4, Ep1, Ep7, and now Mando S3. What do the previous three have in common? They were all the closing of the FIRST CHAPTER of their respective story/trilogy. I think the choice to have that ending was deliberate, and the first 3 seasons of Mando were the opening chapter of a much larger story. The whole argument that they "left no cliffhanger" doesn't really hold, because look at the others: A New Hope. Luke and Han get their medals, death star gone, everything happy, fade out. _Where do we go from here?_ Phantom Menace. Droids defeated, Naboo saved, celebration, everything happy, fade out. _Where do we go from here?_ Force Awakens. Threat gone, Rey finds Luke, everything is hopeful. _Where do we go from here?_ It's ok that we are left with the feeling that there's nothing "going on" right now. I for one, am very excited where this story will take us.

Season 4 is already written and they already said they start filming in October. Also Pedro in a recent interview said he feels he’ll be playing Din for the rest of his life/ as long as they keep writing it. Dave Filoni also said his movie isn’t the end of Mando it’s just a massive event/ culmination of events involving everything around that period in time. So essentially if Ahsoka and his movie etc does well it probably won’t be ending anytime soon I’d imagine.

The Mandalorian was a great show. I love both seasons. Ending it after two was the perfect decision, and opens up so many possibilities now that Grogu is back with Luke. Plus the new Book of Boba Fett show looks awesome. Boba is such as simple character, he'll be impossible to get wrong.

I just want the feeling i got back in season one episode one, when the door opens up, Mando standing in the doorway, theme pitches up everyone's silent, he barely talks, fights, collects the bounty, and all that good stuff. I want old Mando back. As he said, "I'm a bounty hunter by trade". Haven't got much bounty hunting since he got Grogu. One in BOBF that he got paid with information of where the covert was

Now on a more serious note. This season has significantly less viewership numbers compared to the previous seasons. It didn't help that this season was completely mismanaged, all over the place, full of plot holes, inconsistency and focus on characters that were not our protagonist. I personally don't think a fourth season makes sense, because the numbers will be even lower, as Disney genuinely lost many fans that were willing to watch this season to begin with. Bringing Grogu back at all was a huge mishap and probably motivated by the marketing and sales department, his story should have been a 2 episode ordeal at most, same with Bo-Katan and Boba Fett. They're not our protagonists, they are side characters and could have their own show, they shouldn't take away screen time from Mando. Some people funnily enough complain that Mando can't carry a show on his own due to lacking characterization, but he lacks characterization because the show focuses often on everyone but him. Moff Gideon should have been the overarching antagonist of the entire show. Giancarlo Esposito is a great actor and the Moff one of the few genuinely fascinating characters. He has a deep understanding of Mandalore and uses that to his advantage. The season 2 and 3 finales were a big disservice to him. That the writing wasn't the best is something I don't even mention because that's obvious to everyone really. I've come to a point where I much rather see Star Wars animated shows than the live action shows and movies. Tales of the Jedi, the first season of Visions, the Clone Wars, Bad Batch etc. are all very enjoyable, creative, better written and accessible for Fans young and old, they captivate the audience in a way George Lucas would be proud of. Something I also think worth mentioning is how amazing the quality of the Old Republic cinematic trailers are, from the visuals, to the choreography, characters and dialog (which is often short but informative and sensible). Fans would be more than happy to get a full length, animated film in that style and setting. Alone the light saber fight in the latest Trailer leaves everything of the Disney era in the dust, excluding Maul vs Ahsoka.

Everything you said is true and unfortunately it will never get better with that witch (I really am struggling not to use another word) Kathleen Kennedy interfering with the show in retaliation for Lukes surprise return at the end of S2, she HATES Luke and the fact the fans love him and not Rey. She fired Gina Carano and cancelled Jon's show with her as the lead in retaliation for not being able to tell them what to do with their show. The ending being tied up in a nice bow and the clones being Gideon not snoke was Dave and Jon's giant middle finger to Kennedy for killing star wars a second time. I stand by them in that. All disney and that witch have done is kill the franchise we all love. Dave and Jon can only do so much. I have zero hope for the franchise anymore just like wen last jedi came out. Absolutely zero hop is left in my heart, that witch squandered what little love I had left. It's all gone now, season 4 of the bad batch, jedi survivor, nothing can revive that part of me anymore. All thanks to that witch and disney, George should've never sold and instead given it to Dave.

I think of it as the end of act 1. The Mandalore arc is over and now they're in a prime position to take on and get involved in threats to the galaxy that aren't directly tied to the Mandalorians or Grogo and Din. Should be a cool next couple of seasons.

I’m starting to notice a thread possibility this season which, if I’m right, is a very gutsy and possibly genius story telling move on Fav-loni’s part, especially going forward. They could use the Dins as our view into major Galactic events from the viewpoint, not of the “main” character (Bo, Ahsoka, the Skywalkers, etc.) but rather from the eyes of a pair of extremely competent “support” characters who come in, help the “heroes” resolve their conflict, and then ride off into the sunset and the next adventure. That way they can “cross paths” with, say, Sabine or Boba, or even Po or Ray, help them, and move on. In season four of “their” show I can see them taking various missions that lead to them uncovering information leading up to the Thrawn movie. They will also come across things needed for their own growth like a Holicron for Grogu’s training as an example. I see them being to the Mandoverse what R2 & 3P0 were to the Skywalker Saga: the eyes through which the shows are shown. The possibilities are endless.

I think you should consider the power dynamics we are left with on mandalore. there is a balance between the political leader Bo, and the religious leader, the Armorer. The Armorer has sensed that Din Djarin, and Grogu, growing closer to Bo, give her a greater amount of power in this fragile alliance of Mandalorians than the Armorer has, so she sends Din and Grogu off to pursue "adventures" for Grogu to learn as Dins apprentice. "On a fishing trip" at the cabin on Navarro, far away from the power contest going on in Mandalore. I suspect Bo is going to discover she misses Din and Grogu, and Din will realize the same thing, as they go about their episodic bounty hunting for the New Republic. So the fourth season will include, among other things, a conclusion of Bo and Dins relationship tied in with Grogu helping her master the Mythosaur, unless Grogu rides it himself.

It really felt like this season was building up the world of this era of the Star Wars galaxy. We learned that bits of the empire survived and have infiltrated the New Republic, that the New Republic is just as bad as the Empire in some aspects. Thrawn is indeed alive and is planning something and of course the Mythasaur still exists deep in underground water of Mandalore. Among other things. This season was setting things up for the Heir of the Empire Era.

I think it would be awesome to have a time jump of like 5-10 years between season 3 and 4! We could start s4 with the end of Grogu's training to officially be a Mandalorian and get is full armor. The season could then be more focus on Grogu, now beeing The Mandalorian instead of Djarin. Would also be cool to see Grogu older, taller and beeing able to talk!

The Mandalorian is such a treat to watch, even though some of the episodes seem weird or go a different direction for a bit. I'm just very grateful that this show is on in 2023, I've been a Star Wars Fan since 1977. To think Star Wars keeps living on in different shows, movies, books, comics, video games. Celebrated at Comic Con and Star Wars Celebration and many other ways. The fans are what has kept Star Wars alive to this day, and that alone is Amazing. Thank You Theory for being a Star Wars fan and having your LIVE watch parties and your terrific videos. I believe there will be a season 4 of the Mandalorian, and we'll see what Mando and Grogu are up to next. I would like to see a little time jump for next season. I really enjoyed season 3 even though I agree that the story wandered. I loved the way Grogu accepted his Jedi powers and I think that Din found himself again. Crippling him as a leader would make the show really boring.

My biggest reason for wanting moff Gideon to return is because of how lack luster they treated his character in this season. Moff Gideon has always been smart and methodical and if feels like a 180 for him to all of the sudden want the force. Also doesn’t make sense for him to give the force to his clones which if they are as cunning as he is would end up betraying and killing each other and kill the original one as well. Overall they treated his character poorly and he should come back one last time to have a good closing character arc.

Disney has unfortunately done a horrendous job with flashbacks these past couple of years. No Jango flashbacks in TBOBF, they didn’t de-age Hayden in Kenobi and Coruscant looked terrible, and the only flashback we received in Mando Season 3 was “Jar Jar” rescuing Grogu, which I thought was very underwhelming. The writing and storytelling isn’t there anymore like it was in the first 2 Seasons. Season 3 should’ve been chock full of flashbacks of past and iconic Mandalorian clans like Jango, Jaster, Montross, and The True Mandalorians as well as Death Watch, but we got absolutely nothing. It’s hard to have high expectations right now.😑

I think we are going to get a Time Skip, between 2-4 years. This will allow during this time skip some surprise cameos from Din and Grogu in the upcoming Star Wars series/movies, without needing to get into much detail. I think season 3 was a great way to be the starter branch for all these other planned projects. I just binge rewatched S3, it's was a lot better on a binge and made this season feel like it was setting up something big. I would like to see Moth Gideon return, but I feel like he is no longer the main villain for Din and Grogu. I think if season 4 were to return, there would have to be someone else who takes over as the antagonist. Maybe someone who is the same species as Darth Maul, or maybe an Inquisitor, someone who could match the team work of Din and Grogu.

Yup I agree all the connections were established right from the beginning to me it's obvious it's like all the Marvel Netflix shows leading to Defenders had they continued those shows I'm sure they would've led to another arc for the first three seasons of The Mandalorian the first arc was about Din and Grogu why the empire was hunting Grogu why Moff Gideon specifically wanted Grogu so badly about Grogu's past the cloning plot and of course the future of the mandalorians the next season is gonna be a new arc and the reason why they had Din be a bounty hunter who's now working for The New Republic to help them hunt down other remnants of the empire is cause now he can crossover with the other shows easier

I just think season 4 has the most potential of all the seasons. Will it top season 2, maybe who knows. But with how season 3 ended they can basically make Din and Grogu go on whatever adventure the writers want. With that in mind the writers can just imagine the very coolest scenario of all of their ideas and then make Din and Grogu do that. I also hope that season 4 will have some mysticism over it, like the real enemy we get a taste of in episode one of season 4 but not enough to decode who it is. Then weird things happens around the galaxy that Din and Grogu have to check out, but they have know idea who is doing all these things. In the end it might be Thrawn idk, or someone else really cool. But Mando now being a Ranger for the New Republic sets up so many possibilities for him and Grogu to crossover into other shows as well. I'm almost confident that they will show up in Skeleton Crew.

I am hoping that Grogu is actually Force-sensitive who is strong with the dark side. The reason the Jedi kept him hidden is because if the Sith found him then he could endanger the whole galaxy and I am guessing there is a barrier that prevents Grogu from using his Force powers and its quite evident that he is afraid to use powers that can potentially hurt someone.

I think they're going to have a time jump from the end of season 3 to the beginning of season 4, in order to age Grogu up. You could tell they were showing his growth, but were limited with his character by his age. So I think he is going to start aging rapidly (perhaps his species ages rapidly after about 60 years of live) and he will be talking and walking around more like a 10-12 year old human. That's my theory for why this season ended like it did. Next season will be "5 years of your typical bounty hunting life later..."

I actually really liked that season 3 focused on mandalorians as a whole and not just mando. Mandalorians are legendary figures in star wars but weve seen so little of them. It was cool seeing them all band together and retake their homeworld. I feel like it would have been lame if they just did another season about keeping grogu safe and running from the empire. And also because they made this season not focused on mando and grogu, season 4 will feel even more nice when its focused back on them.

It felt like most of the season was written without Grogu in mind and then they had to throw him in as they learned that he would have been found in maybe the artists planets? Maybe they planed for Dr Pershing to go after Grogu and Luke forcing them to take hide on theyre planet leading to Grogus eventual rescue and re union with Din. That time and place might have been the perfect place to do it on and would have made that episode so much more impactfull down to the knightning of Grogu. As for season for I am still surprised that we did not learn ANYTHING on where that take us. They could have show us something like a "next week on" trailer to get us hyped and it could have been super generic with Din flying around in his N 1 fighter or shooting at something. Now it felt like the perfect series finale. J.

With all the story arcs being closed and everything all tied up. I believe season 4 will begin with a large time skip. Most likely we will see grogu take the next step of his apprenticeship to rank up. For this to happen they will return to Mandalor and discover that things have gone wrong. Which will lead to something with the Mythosaur. Grogu will definitely be more powerful with the force by then and if they do encounter Ashoka she may train Grogu a bit to make sure he doesn’t fall to the dark side. Grogu will definitely get some new armor and weapons and the fight scenes of Mando and Grogu going forward should be epic.
