@@paulbutikofer4284 I think that would require understanding the text. Although if paired with an LLM, it might be able to make the distinctions you mention. So far, LLMs are not sentient, but pretty close in being able to make such distinctions

AI-voiced, so quite annoy over time. Also, concerning the story itself, about humanity's rage at the murder of children, where the hell do you think you live? According to UNICEF, around 100,000 children have died as a result of conflicts over the last decade, which averages to about 10,000 children per year. In recent conflicts such as those in Syria and Yemen, thousands of children have been directly killed or died due to the indirect effects of war, including starvation and lack of medical care. These stories are actually quite offensive for being so ignorant of who humans really are.

So many of these stories acknowledge what you said, but then say that humanity has moved on from the old days of in fighting. So I guess that the death of a human child by aliens bares a lot of weight. I think that would bare a lot of weight nowadays.

I can get past the crappy AI but the story is even worse sfi-fi. A super weapon that can destroy not just a planet but stars systems and ones 'near by'? Thats not a world breaker is a system breaker, and would need to be the size of a planet. MEH.
