The first conversation between Mrs. Dudley and Steve about how they live through the forest on the edge of the property or whatever she says, that is immediately followed up by Steve talking to Luke in the fake ass redroom treehouse and asks about his drawing of Abigail, and Luke says "some girl I saw, in the woods" was one of my first clues

the show does a really good job at showing abigail in ghost form AND alive plus they made her look creepy which makes people assume shes just a ghost whos been there for a long time especially because mrs dudley doesnt talk about her living child until later

The mother story it's so sad because she did had a mental illness that have been sort of managed before they got to the house, but having that at the same time and living in Hill House made her more vulnerable to the house's darkness and ghosts, the show was so good because it made possible for both things to co-exist

14:44-14:50 the realization and then the heartbreak on your guys faces. This episode is the one I found the most interesting and hardest to watch because of those emotions. Realization and heartbreak in that order. Like finding out what happened to Hannah in bly manor.

Can you imagine editing this show? Great editing. I especially enjoyed this episode. The twins telling their mom about their fears and nightmares was brilliant writing and concept work. This show also did an excellent job in revealing how the house and its ghosts corrupted and possessed the mother. I can't think of another ghost story so rich in origin and nitty gritty explanation on the whys and hows of its haunting process.

That was Mr. Dudley's mom, Abigail's grandmom, who took her at the end. She died in the house.

I wonder, should they have asked the mom's sister to pick the mom up, so they KNEW she was away from the house? Could've stopped this whole mess. And yeah, just feel awful for the Dudleys. Then you add that Luke probably realized subconsciously at some point his mom killed his first friend, then killed herself... that'll f*** anybody up... Just this episode had almost all the feels ... And the last episode definitely has all the feels. I love ya'lls reaction to this series. Keep it up!

It might not have been totally subconscious, his brain probably buried the memory of it to protect him from the trauma. But when Joey is telling Steve about Luke’s stories and writing, the first thing she mentions is that he wrote a story about Abigail. So it was something that he remembered and worked on in recovery, if he was willing to share that story with others in rehab.

Also the fact that you realized who that was holding Abigail's hand??? legit there is not a single reactor I've seen that got that lmao Also flashbacks to the house are set in the 90s (i believe) and oh man is Olivia is a perfect example of dismissing warning signs until it's too late. It still happens now but back then I can only assume it was even worse. When I got to this ep, the realization of just how much the house played with Olivia's mind made me emotional, watching her slowly lose herself and not getting the help she needs was incredibly hard. It's difficult to see clearly when you're being manipulated, especially that vividly, like everything the house shows Olivia feels just as real as anything else. ugh her experience is my worst nightmare, I don't know what I'd do if I'd have to deal with so much confusion as to what is real

4:45... the spousal door/bedside rule is semi accurate for alot of marriages. Except for mine. I specifically informed my husband that I get the side in all 3 of our places we have that's closest to the door. It may have emasculated him if he wasnt aware that I have had a considerable amount of training in disarming people... I know of at least 7 ways to disarm anyone with a knife and about 9 way to disarm a gunman. Before we got engaged one night we were walking around at night kind of in a shady area that had alot of attacks and rapes and there were a few thugs behind us and I had forgotten my personal army knife and he had his in his pocket and I made him give it to me instead and he asked me... "why?" And my only responses were "because I am a girl if they attack us they will go after you first most likely to get you out of the way, they won't expect me to be able to take them on which gives me an advantage and I know how to subdue them with just a pocket knife with out killing them which would keep us away from the manslaughter charges we would still inevitably get before our court dates..." he handed me the knife and told me how weird I was for having such a realistic answer to his question. Haha I think it weirded him out how far ahead I thought in a response to be attacked. I only told him all of that instantly to get his knife from him faster... and we didn't even need it. He proposed a month later.
