in swedish we would pronounce simons name like see-mon, the mom has a spanish accent so that’s why its different☺️

Thank you so much Nicole for sharing your story of ADHD. Im just 16 years old, and I noticed that I have a very similar thing happening to me since last year. I feel anxious going out. I get very tensed thinking about every single thing that might happen outside and that keeps me from concentrating on the thing I was doing right then. I try to prepare myself even for the smallest thing like grocery shopping about what to say to the shopkeeper. I also face mood swings sometimes though they have decreased in the past month. Sometimes I feel uneasiness for no reason. I wasn't taking all of it seriously, thinking it was just because of my studies, but now I'm thinking of talking to a professional about it. Thanks again for this! (Also, sorry if my english is bad, I'm not a native speaker!)

Season 2 will come out in 2022 and I’m so excited! And I agree the chemistry between Wilhelm and Simon is amazing and I think a lot of it has to do with ofc the director and the people behind the show but mainly because of Edvin and Omar (the actors) being such close friends in real life
@EmberC

They became friends during this show but the director said that the chemistry was just there from the start (the first casting meeting). This is really a rare thing. Together, they are really on fire as an on screen couple 🔥

When I was diagnosed with OCD I realized so much about myself and where my anxiety was coming from as well. At first, I remember just focusing on the anxiety and my compulsions but with treatment I realized the actual problem was my OCD and the thoughts that caused the distress in the first place. It’s huge when you first realize what’s actually going on when going to a professional. Can relate to you at some extent =)

little things about that final scene: when they’re watching the movie, the lighting on wilhelm and his hand is rainbow and the words spoken in the movie i’ve noticed reflect his inner monologue sort of (ex: that jumpscare near the end was him panicking). i thought this parallel was really cool of them to include because i think it adds a lot to the scene, but i haven’t seen many people notice it sadly :(

About the meds being expensive: of course they are, but you also have to remember this is not the US. In Sweden you never pay more than about 2400kr (about 250$) a year for meds. The rest is gouvernement founded. So the stealing meds thing is not so much about money, but more about trust and taking advantage of his dad using their bad relationship as an excuse.

It shouldn't take years, but it is common that it takes months, one thing that slows it down the process is the extensive interviews of several different people around the person being tested, most commonly teachers/colleges, parents, siblings etc.

Helt sjukt ju.. Dock måste jag säga att jag tycker det är bra att vi intervjuar, bilden kan se väldigt annorlunda ut i olika miljöer och många med adhd missas i formulären, särskilt flickor då testen är utformade efter undersökningar om typiska drag på pojkar.

@@erikperhs_ ok then the people he was associating with got him in trouble. The whole discussion about the fact that Wilhelm could murder someone and the students wouldn't tell on him is to demonstrate to Wilhelm that no one at the school is going to use him for clout because he is among his peers. The show is all about class and August fears his interactions with Simon because he is not like them and cannot vouch for his intentions. He is just warning Wilhelm to be careful with who he trusts because if he messes up again in someone else's company it could be broadcasted again and reflect badly back on their family which August is a part of. August is a classist prick but warning Wilhelm is fair.

My problem with getting diagnosed (still trying, though I'm pretty darn sure I have ADHD) is that I've done so much research that, even if I try not to assert myself on it too much, it seems sketchy. But I know that there are random things about me that are symptoms of ADHD, or anxiety, or OCD, or whatever. But I have to try and present them in a way that makes sense but doesn't sound like it's from Wikipedia, and makes it seem like it's just that Thing™ I thought of, and I don't already know that it can be a symptom. I mean, how does one say "I have anxiety, I feel stressed and plan out everything I need to do but procrastinate on it for no reason, I get distracted easily, my memory is wack, I do things in patterns, and once there was a period of my life where I was horribly, HORRIBLY, paranoid, and still vaguely am now" and not make it sound like I'm reading a list of symptoms for any number of things? It's exhausting, but trying to get diagnosed in the middle of Covid means the first time they never got back to me (I think they lost the test somehow, because it wasn't on their records as negative or positive when I later asked about it), and the second time since I mentioned "I think I might have ADHD or anxiety" they just gave me the psych number. But, I made a new year's resolution to call that number, so hopefully I will eventually get the help I'm seeking. Thank you so much for talking about this, and sorry for ranting lol :)).

a heads up about elite: in my opinion, the first season was by far the best one and sort of the only one worth watching. i havent seen season 4 yet to be fair but thats because ive fallen out with it. season 2 and 3 were such a huge let down especially when it comes to the romance (the mlm romance was put through the wringer later on for no reason whatsoever). the first season also did the mystery aspect the best and the pacing/reveals. and with every season more actors of the main cast left and new characters were added who were not fleshed out at all. i would recommend season 1 by itself, it was amazing, but keep your expectations low for the rest of it and if you end up liking it, that'd be great but dont expect to get the same thing season 1 delivered.

You are so right: Wille is obsessed with being around Simon and doesn't care about all the fuzz around him. It is common on shows, the issue about "accepting his fluid sexuality". But in this one, he knows from start he falls for Simon. The only struggle of Wille is "he is not allowed to love somebody". And you will see him fighting all the story to get this freedom of love, against what his duties impose on him. The picture, being seen by Sara, yes he is a public figure and he is not allowed to show his private life, he needs to hide in general, gay or not. True, a specificity of this show us the characters communicate. Yes there is a complexity. The characters have a depth, it feels realistic. And all the characters are caring (except 1), and it is refreshing not to expect bad intentions all the time. Here people mess up by impulsion, but without manipulation. So true their chemistry explode the screen, they are so cute. What do you think?

I want to encourage you to not hate August. He will do a lot of things in this season that will make you want to hate him (and a lot of people vocally do...), but hating him is the easy way out. The writers of this show have said that none of the characters is 100% good or bad, that includes the main characters and that also includes August, even though we don't see much of his 'good' side yet. There are signs though that he's much more multidimensional than some people make him out to be - subtle signs, but they are there. I'm guessing we're seeing more of those in S2. He's not the archetypical villain, the writers are too subtle for that. You will see the main chars tripping up as well, and disappointing us at times. That's what makes this show good - it's not dumb. It shows people as people, not just stereotypes. Still don't understand why people can't appreciate shows with subtitles. Honestly, there are so many european shows that are so good, and people who don't "watch shows with subs" simply miss out on a lot, that's a simple fact.

@@jmsrh_3294 tbh i don’t even think even the writers want to make us feel bad for him bc of the dad thing but probably flesh him out more.. but somehow some people think him having personal problems justifies anything 😭 sure you can see why he cracked but it’s not justified
@erikperhs_
@erikperhs_ 3 жыл бұрын
So you're basically saying "don't hate him because he may be a good person in the next season". That doesn't make ANY sense We'll stop hating him when he shows any good trait. It doesn't matter what the writers want, as viewers with personal morals we can 100% decide if we think someone who's that type of person is good or bad.
@youwsernayme

@@jmsrh_3294 the headwriter herself said in a podcast interview called singelrådet that she feels for august and feels bad for him. that he makes bad desicions etc but that she fully understand why he does them, and that’s exactly how i feel too. that’s why i love the show so much: even though i may not agree with every choice the characters make, i still understand *why* they act like they do, and i love that august isn’t just a stereotypical flat evil character
@mellowtopia5376
@mellowtopia5376 3 жыл бұрын
 @jmsrh _ You know, some people can't see nuance if it hits them over the head (ha) and that's okay. Just one thing - if you hate a fictional character that much, it may be better to step back from the screen a bit and get out more. Thing is though, you will realise there are a lot of Augusts out there in the world and you will have to find a way to deal with them because you can't avoid them. And calling them names won't help. ;) And what Ebba said down below is worth a read.
@mellowtopia5376
@mellowtopia5376 3 жыл бұрын
@@erikperhs_ You can definitely decide what you want to feel. But if you decide to hate a fictional character so much that it makes you blind to nuances and you put so much emotion into it that it makes you boil with rage, it's probably not very healthy for you. ;)
