Congrats at finding the semi-shortcut in chamber 14. The real fast way to do it is to ignore the cube and fling yourself up onto the lift. (Someone discovered this in playtesting and it resulted in the rule of "if it works, it was correct even if not intended."

Congrats on beating the game! This time around was definitely less painful since you figured out about thinking in portals, it was really awesome to see how quickly you adapted to the way the game was played. And yeah, you're gonna love 2, it's story is way more interesting than 1, considering it has more of one, but seriously it's gonna be great.

My guess is a lot of your frustration closer to the end is cause it requires a lot of precise aim and quick action, which doesn't really work with sluggish controllers, which the game was probably not designed around.

You should definitely watch a speedrun of Portal. Go with glitch free version if you want to maintain sanity. The glitched version (that allows using bugs in the game to solve puzzles faster) looks totally insane and then there's a speedrun that plays through the game without ever shooting a single portal!
