Your content is all over the place-sometimes it's about your amazing game room, ranking video of your consoles-and now you're buying junk off the internet and reviewing it. Listen, all of that kind of content is fine, but there's dedicated channels so that. If you want to make a channel, or a video series, about buying junk from Chinese cyberspace and talking about it then make that sort of content more consistent. I think RetroDodo does a really good job, he specializes in handhelds, but he doesn't just say how trashy the consoles are, he genuinely compares and contrast them-his entire channel is based around this. You really need to find the content that you enjoy creating. It seems you're throwing darts to the wall. Listen, if you're just trying to see what your audience enjoys to feel validated, here is what I come for retro channels for: retro game reviews (game sack), hidden gems, (metral jesus rocks), video game retrospectives (LGR), the hobby of game collecting (Metal jesus rocks), historical videos (Top Hat Gaming), retro technical things that go way outside my knowledge base (RetroRGB).

I will let you know, some LG TVs and a good portion of TCL TVs use headphone jacks as a composite input, so better hope you never lose those dongles in the box. LG TVs have double jacks so you could fit component in, but TCL only has composite.
@GamingTheSystems12 жыл бұрын
I think I know what you mean. One of my component ports also functions as composite. The whole system and its components are packed back into the box, and I'll be dropping it off at the thrift store.

As for "roms off the internet" - these file structures reminds me of the first "60-in-1" cart I tried in about 1990. Good thing about multicarts was all the early "one chip" Nintendo games - a lot of those I never saw again before emulation. Bad thing was all the rubbish hacks.

The mother of all pallet swaps 🤣 I have few famiclones in my collection and are as useless as this one, but I grabbed some just for the weird form factor, check the Power Joy Voyager as an example of one that's veeeery interesting, the 2 in 1 concept + the light gun being built into the controller are the peek of famiclones innovation :)
@GamingTheSystems12 жыл бұрын
Wow, it has light gun support? I can't imagine it would work good, but at least they were trying.

WHY wouldn't they know these games aren't real? While the Famicom was never officially sold in China, it did have a large market in China through imports. The guys designing these handhelds grew up playing them. Since the famicom market in China was illegal, there was probably a lot of these game shenanigans going on.

Composite is not low quality. Composite can be done poorly and it can be done well. Buy a good name brand old DVD player and use the composite cable. You'll find the video is great. Composite absolutely has zero delay. Do you HONESTLY believe people just played video games with delay in the 80s? If you have a delay, it is your TV doing it, not the console. Composite doesn't need buffering and so it is generated in real time. But your TV is not a scanline driven device, it is a screen driven device. CRT TVs work on a scanline basis. A line begins coming in and is drawn to the screen in real time with no buffering (with a CRT). There is no delay inherent in composite.

That company and most companies are based in China so Nintendo has no jurisdiction over anything in China, so in a sense they can do what they want. And Nintendo won't ever go after them. And even if they do, they will just sell it under another company name they have hundreds of sister companies

The roms on the main menu are pointing towards roms for bootleg multi carts. When Contra1 is chosen you get pointed to a 12 in 1 bootleg cart with the Contra rom. It's typical janky behavior from these famicom focused, low cost emulation devices.
@GamingTheSystems12 жыл бұрын
Makes sense. Seems like they would want to move those Contras into the main menu, but I doubt they gave it that much thought.

Well, if you do a little thinking, you'll realize Super Mario Bros. 6 is really Super Mario 64. I mean there's Mario 3, then World would be 4, Yoshi's Island would be 5 and then 64 would be 6. So that should be what you get when loading Super Mario Bros. 6 yes?

1:55 Speak for yourself! NTSC CRT is the ONLY way to play NES games. Furthermore, HDMI costs money. They have to pay a licensing fee to put an HDMI port in there. It would add significantly to the cost. It's 5000 Dollars for under 10k units plus 1 Dollar per unit produced. This would probably add 1.50 per unit with a run of 10k units. Given it probably costs under $5 to make it, that would take it to 6.50 which is a decent amount by percentage. Composite, done right, is perfectly capable of carrying high quality 240p video., Hell, RF is more than capable, again, done right, of carrying a 240p video signal along with the audio. Unless your set up is not right, the increase in signal quality from RF to composite is absolutely minuscule.
