@bearzercher3 жыл бұрын
You really just need to think about the greed of humanity and you can predict quite a bit of the future. Just think about how can you make money out of other people. You need to control them. You need to make them believe,that the little small kernel you give them is generous and all they'll ever need. You need to make them not have dreams, be stupid and not be able to think for themselves, make them depend on you. And when they are stupid, poor and seeing you as their saviour, you have your bank check filled with money until they stop believing in you. That's basically what the members of the parliament and the parliament itself is about. That's what religion is about. That's what the modern social culture is about. They make you depend on something, either money, social status or comfort, they give it to you for the small price of your soul.

People in the modern world seem to think we're the first generation to have the attitude of "everyone is brainwashed and our world is corrupt" when, in reality, this mentality has existed for generations. So, it's really not surprising how much old media portrays this sort of social commentary. If you look for it, you'll find that it's quite an overdone and common plot trope.
@Thalanox3 жыл бұрын
It's also very plausible that the same sorts of problems being alluded to here have been going on for a long time. Start your research with the question of how central banks can be used as a tool of control, and you'll be well on your way to picking up an important idea.

The year was 1996. My grandfather had just gotten his new computer upgrade. He was a computer wiz and technophile. It had the latest in graphics technology, and a brand new game unlike anything I had ever seen before: Duke Nukem 3D. He showed me how to play, booted up the first level of the first act, and I heard that iconic line, forever etched into my mind: "It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all outta gum" Imagine my surprise, when I 5 years later hear that very line in a film on TV late at night, on one of our brand new 24-hour film channels. I quickly hit the TeleText button and saw the description: Made in 1988. That was when I learned that almost all of Duke's lines were copied from pop culture. And because that particular line was etched so deep into my mind, because it was so iconic to me, the film also became instantly iconic to me. Just by association. Backward association, I guess...

You know, I realized why I always come back to watch Decker's videos: he still has that early KZbin feel without excessive editing or special effects as his personality is what carries it for me.

Damn right, although he has started to use green screen, but it’s all cool.

Woot! However one other piece of trivia John Carpenter unfortunately got turned off of Pro Wrestling after this movie. Another thing is the acting by Roddy was pretty good and apparently he drew from his experiences of actually being in that exact position.

Hey Decker, your additional notes mention the “are we the baddies” moment. Is this referring to the Mitchell and Webb sketch or is it just a general surmise?

I remember when this came out on TV (HBO? Showtime?) one of my friends told me he was eating Spaghetti and Meatballs. When the aliens became visible he looked at his meatballs and all of a sudden wasn't hungry anymore.

This isn't a film. It's a documentary. And yes, I know this has been repeated thousands of times. But it bears repeating.

I like this channel because it reminds me of classic youtube. The lates 2000s/early 2010s youtube where film reviews were really big. It’s kind of like the nostalgia critic without the awful skits that go on for hours.

6:40, the fact that we've seen enough real life examples of this to say that clash is too small speaks volumes on the old saying "truth is stranger than fiction".

If the film was made today that shanty town raid would be shot on some sound stage where everything is "perfectly lit", nothing is under/over exposed and there are no signs of ISO grain and lens artifacts. In other words it would be a soulless, lifeless corpse of a scene.

I think Total Recall has a similar moment with the secondary/love interest character. She worked for the network, then realized it was BS and did something about it

Looks like the aliens have a bit of a ghost problem as well. Hauntings can be very distracting for a security team. That's probably why Nada and Frank got in so easily.

Roddy gets a Sci fi action film fighting aliens, Sergeant Slaughter got a two seasons of fighting a reptile themed terrorist organization

The concept you'd like to see- from the outro text- is the main plot of Robert Lulum's Prometheus Deception where a secret agent finds out that he may have been working for the bad guys all along.

I had always wondered why the garbage men dumped the trash back in the alley when Nada was digging for the sunglasses.
