I’m a pain patient. A friend of mine in Canada, he was born in Panama, approached me on a cold weekend when I was unable to move around again. He said: “I can’t see it anymore. You are 56 and you walk around like a 90 year old guy when it gets cold in Canada. Why you not visiting my country where it is warm 12 months a round?” I thought already of moving back to Germany. So why not. November 2019 I arrived in Panama for 5 months I thought. The pandemic told me different…. Anyway. I arrived with 50% of my suitcase stuffed with pills for 5 months. I do know that my body likes it warm. I mean, after close to 4 years now in Panama, people think that I am nuts. I’m outside every day. I can move around like before my accident 10 years ago. I do get ones in a while pain attacks as I call it. That’s when I am in bed for 3-4 days. For this “emergencies “ I got some medications at home. But mostly the hot climate did it’s work. I had a little bit high blood pressure what is gone completely. I know that this isn’t the case for everyone. But what can you lose? - I actually do know the couple who owns this property. We did visit them a couple times. I do love the artwork. It’s fantastic. Short Hello from Nueva Gorgona .

We bought Honda Navis. They cost $1400 apiece, which includes the helmets and cargo boxes. Insurance is $110 per year on each. License was $100 each. There are many small motorcycles and scooters on sale here, most from china. We have always preferred Honda for quality and reliability. Selling evrrything was hard, and inaccurate. We sold a lot, through FB marketplace, Craigslist, and family and friends. We also donated what didnt sell, and filled a UHaul trailer with trash! Think about that for a second... We still have stored things in a 20 x 10 locker, photos, heirlooms, and stuff that belongs to our kids. Good luck, with patience and a positive attitude it gets done.

I really want too move to Panama instead of Mexico as I've only been able to see things only from KZbin and subscribed to Intnl Living. Should I do the mobile tour with a group maybe? I dont know as I am trying to save what I can extra to move. What place would you suggest where it doesn't rain much and is pretty much same say 72-80 degrees year round not way up in the hills/mountains maybe closer to the beach? Where you folks live? I do not want to rent really and would like to buy my own home like doing a lease to buy or a decent down amount. Wish I was wealthy, lol. I live in the Pacific NW. Also, I hate to get rid of my belongings and furniture unless its not worth shipping and I could buy new furniture for the same price of shipping my household belongings? I have business equipment too as I want to keep doing my business/hobby making candles and I have a large embroidery machines (total of 3 sewing/embroidery and big cutting table on wheels and other tables for my work) in hopes of selling my goods online there and sell in town on weekends or something. I want to hopefully buy a house and I am over 60 and qualify to get permanent residency I believe. Thank you for your help and answers.

I am glad you enjoyed the video. What we said comes from the heart, and the video accurately reflects our feelings about this place. You have many questions, that can only be answered by seeing for yourself. And I am not good at phone typing. We used the online guide and cane for two weeks, it saved us money, but the real reason was time. Covid had messed up the tours, and it would have been a long wait. We also are comfortable driving around, so we dedigned a route, booked airbnbs, and rented a tiny car. In retrospect, we would have learned more on a tour, but we did fine. I bet you can too.

Well… People who live in Panama should give true answers and a heats up. Beach properties are nice and pretty. I would like one. But living in Panama for close to 4 years now - you don’t want one. Panamanians come out at Friday afternoon to party. I mean party! Music loud and everyone plays a different radio station. So you will not get sleep until Sunday evening. That’s how it is. I know that property and remember the loud music you still could here from the restaurants on the beach. But the loud music is also on some days in my neighborhood, a couple blocks away from the beach. Panamanians don’t care about neighbors if they celebrate birthdays or holidays. Music is loud until 2-4 in the morning. And you can’t call the police like in the USA or Europe. The police will not come. That’s also a problem with the Airbnb’s in Panama. If they are rented out close to your place, accept that there is loud music. As the couple in the video said: Relax and go with the flow. That’s Panama. I got a lot away from the beach. 8 minutes outside of Coronado. Building my house myself. No loud music there in the moment. I’m the 1st one building there right now. I’m sure that in the coming years, it will be not that quite anymore. 😊
