I'm currently doing botany as part of my degree this year and I think it's so cool someone actually went to all the effort to make a somewhat accurate farming game. Also RCE, practice crop rotation it should result in you needing to use less fertilizer and keep soil quality up

Of course if the game allowed that then RCE would have been better off by planting corn, beans, and a crop that spreads out, such as squash, together. These three (with the squash) are known as the "three sisters" and Native Americans have been planting them together for hundreds of years. The Iroquois have been using this combination since at least the 1300's. The corn stalks acts as a pole for the beans to climb, the beans provide Nitrogen to the soil, and the squash provides shade to deter weeds and traps moisture while its prickly vines deter pests. Cabbage could be used to take up space and the outer leaves will act to trap moisture in the soil and help prevent weeds. Additionally, eating a meal with the three sisters together provides complete proteins.

Matt didn't round, he performed a floor function to the nearest thousand. He knows not to say that he has $9000 when he only has $8999.19. If something in the game were to cost $9000 he would not be able to purchase it. If you had $8999.19 in your bank account, went to your bank and said, "I'd like to have my $9000 in cash please," you would not be walking out of the bank with $9k in money. They wouldn't round it up for you.

I totally agree! I mean if they wanted an anti-weed implement they could've added a herbicide sprayer or similar, a cultivator would rip up the crops! (I suppose for potatoes, a tool similar to a cultivator would be used but it's spaced out much more)

Uhhh, actually a cultivator is indeed used for weed control in growing crops. Cultivators are a secondary tillage implement, use therefore being a finishing action after soil work, and as stated, cultivating the weeds out of the standing crop.

@@VenKando a cultivator would destroy the crops, my friend, instead a weeder makes sense, as they're built with gaps that allow the crops and roots to be untouched. No offense, but I don't believe you understand what a cultivator is. And before you bring up chain harrows or spike harrows, those would rip the leaves from carrots and destroy cabbages outright, learn the usage of a power-harrow, chain harrow and cultivator before you try to outsmart people.

To get super technical in the grammar of it, "corn" is uncountable, meaning it doesn't *have* a pluralization. It's like flour, or water, or dirt. I just realized something from your highway video on city skylines 2, when you're in the menu where you're purchasing a plot, you're able to see the plots that are already purchased via very faint light gray looking lines, you can use those for if you do attempt more challenges based off of plots or grids (such as natural disasters)
