Hello mind. It’s good to be awake again
Spend some time reflecting
Hello hand. We all salute you hand
Five fingers strong. It’s good to have you back again
Hello eye. The complicated eye
Focused so hard on inspecting
Hello leg. Such a shaky leg
Just barely more than decoration
I’m not a motivational speaker
but on this I have arrived
It’s good to be alive
Good to be alive
Hello hand. We all salute you hand
Five fingers strong. It’s good to have you back again
I’m not some mega-church style preacher but my spirit is revived
It’s good to be alive. Good to be alive. Yeah.
I’m not a life coach or some teacher but I think we’ll all survive
It’s good to be alive. Good to be alive. Yeah.

I know this was not necessarily the purpose of this song, but I am autistic and as a result, I am usually disoriented for a long time in the morning because I can't connect to the rest of my body. This song is actually extremely helpful, it actually helps talk me through the process of waking up. Thank you TMBG!

I think the yeti is sorta like representative of inner demons/depressive episodes he survived the last attack and he's greatful to have a moment of peace and awareness, but it never leaves, it's always there... and even when you don't feel the presence it still leave scars... you just have to learn to live with them and hope the next attack isn't as bad

Love how the opening synth implies minor followed by the guitar that plays the relative major for 2 measures before it find the key implied by the opening synth. All the while, the synth line doesn't change. This is a real stand-out on an album that feels little rushed in its overall development.

ParticleMen Man, the last twenty seconds of this song, and the look at the very end. In my interpretation, even if the yeti isn't truly in the room, he's still at the forefront of Joey's mind... and that last moment: that look that says, "Yeah, it's still here... but so am I." Powerful.
