Our church high school ministry does a week long missions trip to the Sweetwater community every summer for over 20years. Well one year two of our high school girls rescued two puppies from a wash. They took them home and gave them a loving home. One even made it to the lovely age of 15. He just recently had to be put down do to multi medical issues that could not be fixed.

I LOVE that you are so involved with animal rescue organizations! I’m 74 years old, and am on my 5th rescue cat. I’ve also had 5 rescue dogs and one rescue parrot over the years, and they have all left me a little bit of their hearts and taken a bit of mine when they left. My current companion, Alfred E. Meeeuuuman is still pretty feral after 6 years, but that works out well because we live way out in the North Florida woods at the end of a dirt road, and Al has the run of about 80 acres, but usually stays pretty close to our shack. He is darned near as anxious to please as most dogs, but he is an expert at ignoring me when he feels like it. His feral side really comes out when he feels like I’VE been ignoring HIM, however, and he gets pretty bitey and scratchy. Amazingly, he releases immediately when I say, “Al, be nice!” Then he lets go and starts licking me to apologize. He’s had run-ins with the Red Tailed hawks resident here, but they’ve learned to leave him alone, as has a pit bull that lives about a half-mile away. Al has also run off a curious mama bear that used to wait for me to come home from work at night, but she still comes when she hears me splitting firewood, she’ll sit about 200 feet away and just watch, and Al leaves her alone when I’m outside! I travel a lot, and when I can’t take him with me I board him. I’ve used a few different places, depending upon who has room at the time, and they all love him! A couple of times, I haven’t called ahead, and when I walked in the door of the vet’s office, an aide has walked across the lobby with Al draped around her neck like a dead fox! He’s a charmer for sure!

My dog Hunter,had a ruptured disc 2 years ago and I took him to the local Vet hospital and thankfully he is doing well. It was 2 hours of surgery and 7 days in the animal hospital. It cost me 2,500 so that is all that I could afford. But if you can donate even 50.00 it's worth it to help animals survive.

My Rock is a Dutch Hound/Jack Russel mix. We found him on the side of the road when he was 4 years old. His owner would drop him off at the old family farm home (nobody had lived there in over 2yrs) with a bad of food while their female dog went into heat. He was so scared & thin that he looked like a bobble head dog. We kept him, he is 11 years old now and he still follows me around like I’m him momma. Which I am, he is my fur baby for sure

Our puppers love drive-thrus as well. The first time we went to McDonald's with them, they were shocked that we could just pull up and get food. It was a long time before they stopped complaining every time we passed a drive thru without stopping. 😅 Really cool you were able to highlight Underdog. All 3 of ours are adopted. 🐶🐶🐶

I visited my local shelter (Homeward Bound Animal Rescue) in Manistee Michigan last summer when I was going thru a tough divorce after 37 years. My Buddy rescued me that day, he has been my constant companion since. He is a Chow, Shar pei and Australian sheepdog mix. Every day is a blessing with him in my life. I am so grateful for those that rescue these dogs so that they can come to our rescue ♥️

Your scenery choice was extraordinary, as usual. The lack of crowds reminds me of my X-C ski trip at Itasca State Park in northern Minnesota, February 1989. The warmest temperature over three days was -14 degrees F. During those three days I saw six other people in the park, none of whom were out on the trails.

Sorry for your loss Vin. May I ask how long you were married- since you said 2017 was your FIRST road trip. We have over two decades and I can't imagine. We try to do and see a lot. We have but work also gets in the way. I know in the end, we will never regret things we did- only those things we did not do in order to work but we have to pay bills and live in the real world too. Moab is a special place- been 6 times. Going back this month. Where did you stay- what did you like the most? Don't be a stranger- go back and visit again, and again...too much to see.

@@MOAB-UT We were married for 21 (most wonderful) years. We stayed at our daughters house in Salt Lake. We drove there from Glenwood Springs CO. I lost my wife to Covid 09/21/2021. So much we dreamed about on traveling and road-trips. I have to stop here as it’s very emotional.

My little guy was a homeless Street dog in Southern California for the first year of his life. He made his way to Montana by way of some amazing people through the shelter in Salmon Idaho. He still has some trust issues and the first few drives in our new Sprinter van had him shaking like a leaf. I evan made him a Kchair just like the one he curls up in the kitchen. I haven't read the manual but it's my understanding that the airbags cannot be turned off on the passenger side. But I've been told they will not inflate unless there's 50 lb or more resting on the seat. I'm still making design to come up with some sort of a platform for my german shepherd to enjoy the travel as well. She doesn't understand why she can't sit in the front seat. I love being rescued by my first children

Hola Nikki, that was a great video. Just by coincidence I also rescue dogs and cats and Even possums. I have two Labs and two felines. The possums have passed. They are great pets but their lifespan is shorts. I love your independence. You are a beatifull young lady inside and out. I also love nature and have been to all the major parks in USA but can't get enogh of Yosemite and Grand Canyon. I'm just an old Mexican retired here in Puerto Vallarta with my daughter and Friends. Come on down with your boyfriend or friends and I"ll be your tour guide. (If i'm still around🤣). Your vídeo brought tears to my eyes seeing all the homeless dogs. We have a big problem here also. I’m not trying to be negative about this, I just know that you do have a lot of influence and these knives are not good quality. When they don’t even list the steel they use on the website that’s the first red flag. These are probably ok for a cheap camp knife, but they won’t hold up over time with moderate use.
