@@ReggieWolf as mentioned, the Terrans are connected to a galactic wide cataclysm (the green stuff that corrupts, some sort of super weapon perhaps). either being the direct cause or being a scapegoat for L.A.W (I think scapegoat due to L.A.W. being scene as shady on some accounts). Terrans are now wanted all through out the galaxy and are deemed to be executed immediately. (You see this on a background wanted poster in episode one). Most Terrans are probably still alive but must remain in hiding since they are ALL are marked as inter-galactic terrorists. I can't wait till the next episode. I think our boys will stumble upon a Terran refugee and choose to help them.

Yes the entire quarantine zone and a huge swathe of the galaxy etc was corrupted by a machine used by the terrans It's also hinted that the terrans themselves were destroyed as well.
