This one was arranged by the same person that arranged We Don't Talk About Bruno, Isaiah Carter. He also did the vocal percussion on both. May the Bass be With You Vol 4. is coming soon!

A "piss off", bass fan clack, and a demand for reparations and apologies, all from the one phrase in the song 😂. Nice one DJ. Was waiting for you to review this one.

The fact that they didn't end with that deep unison "I ain't 'fraid of no ghost" is honestly really cool! They have this epic line, but they bounce back into the music for a last joyful hurrah 😊

I sing with everything all the time, so I also don't know how common it is, but I definitely also sing with both the lyrics and instrumental of pretty much every song. For a lot of songs I actually only sing the background even if there are lyrics, just depending on what feels better to sing. And there's plenty of instrumental only songs I like matching the bassline on (but an octave or two up, I'm a baritone/tenor), for example a lot of the Hat in Time soundtrack like the main theme and Train Rush.

I love the 4 at a time bass voices "I ain't afraid of no ghost" also Peter Hollens is always a great guest.

Peter's sideburns are a brilliant salute to the film costuming.

I definitely sing along to the "dash-dat daah-dat daah-dat" parts. Heck, I sing along to ALL the musical parts of this song. It's just so well done.

Tomi and Marwan DO sound good together! So much so, that you should really check out Marwan's cover of All Time Low (feat. Tomi), assuming you haven't already.

OK, can we start a petition to get a version of this with Peter dressed up as the corpse bride?? The vision I got in my head when you said that... I will now be picturing that every time I see this! 😂 I am 64 & was in my 20's when the movie came out in '84 - saw it in the theater multiple times & have been a mega-fan ever since! When GB Afterlife got announced I was over the moon! Awesome reaction (as always!). You crack me up every time!

This is so much fun. I don't think I've ever seen Peter smiling so much. And I could listen to Bobby's opening for hours. Yum.

The Bass Gang and Peter Hollens did such an amazing job with this one! It's absolutely phenomenal! And I kinda love the fact that there were no video gimmicks as such, it was just pure incredible music...amazing work! Thank you DJ for this reaction...I really loved this one, especially when they did you dirty!

Yeah, the song was always the best thing about the movie. And, I mean, it wasn't a bad movie. Arguably, it was one of the best comedy movies of the eighties (behind things like Short Circuit and Crocodile Dundee). But the song was *better* than the movie. This is why the Bass Gang needed to add a breakdown section: the quality of the original was high enough, that just doing a straight cover wasn't really an option, it wouldn't have added enough value, despite how good their voices are. They needed to do something extra, to set the cover apart from the original. Hence the breakdown, and the bridge. The highest ratio of theme song quality to actual content quality, by far, belongs to Airwolf, not just for the eighties, but for all time. Nobody ever does covers of the Airwolf theme song, probably because the actual show was all kinds of meh. But the theme song was great. Also, yes, excluding instrumental works (e.g., Symphony #5, William Tell Overture, the Twilight Zone theme, the Jaws theme, the Star Wars theme, ...) as a separate category, this song is high on the list of songs that do have well-known lyrics but almost everyone sings along with the instrumentation, not just the lyrics. Eye of the Tiger is another prominent example.

For some reason I keep wanting to picture Peter Barber dressed as Lord Viggo. He has that high forehead and can do a really good scowl. It would be fun to see Peter dressed up in Renaissance costume to recreate the painting from Ghostbusters 2.
