This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!! Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. NW just completed a very brief North American tour. By dumb luck, one of those stops was 40 minutes from me, so I was able to attend my first ever Nightwish concert. I am someone who rarely gets hyped up for movies or concerts (I have seen over 150 concerts and some of the biggest rock bands of the past half century), but I was super hyped for this one and they exceeded all expectations. Find a way to get to a show. You will not be disappointed!

Hey, how are you? I'm glad you found your way back to Nightwish. Always good fun to watch you experience their songs. At the meet & greet in New York a month ago, they said that the chance they will be coming to Australia next year is 50/60 😜 They also played 'Storytime' at the show afterwards.

@@silverblack5475 Hi. Yes, that would have been nice! It was a fantastic evening. I was front row and it was so much fun to see them up close in a smaller setting. Emppu even tossed me 2 picks (I gave one away to another fan). It was absolutely worth flying to the US for. So maybe we'll see each other next time. 😄 I'm already looking forward to seeing the shows in Amsterdam in November.

@@martine3293 i was maybe the 3rd row to the right in between Floor and Emmpu, so we were very close to one another .....I was the one screaming " HAPPY MOTHERS DAY FLOOR" in between songs lol . Emmpu through a pick in my direction but it was a free for all to get it . I would love to Fly out and catch them at one of the festivals .....kudos to you for coming to the States to see them ....your A TRUE FAN . Till Next year !!!

Floorgasm every time! Floor said recently there's a 50/50 chance of them coming to Australia in January, which would be epic. In the meantime you gotta checkout Bloodywood - they combine your two favourite genres, rap and metal, with cool indian folk influences as well. Dana Daan is a killer track, a total assault on the senses, but as always with Bloodywood, there's a real important message behind it.

More reserved. lol Yes, Nightwish loves to build as the song goes along. Tuomas thinks like that, and writes that deeply. They don't call him 'Metal Mozart' for nothing. lol He likes themes of stories and Childhood innocence. Recorded originally in the Anette era. She didn't do operatic vocals, so those were done with a choir then. If they do get to Australia, I hope they play close enough to you so you can make it. They just finished a USA tour, but nothing close enough for me.😞 In the meantime, try Ghost River or Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean. Or 'Noise' from the newest album.
