Had a similar thing happen to me when using a private parking building in Auckland, NZ. We pre paid online for a parking a spot for an event and wife placed the print out reservation on the dash as they was required. Unfortunately we got a fine from them about a week later for parking there even though we paid in advance, displayed the reservation print out and they had our vehicle registration. The only dropped it after they realised we were not going to pay and take it to small claims court where they had recently had decisions go against them. We always take a photo now of receipt when we use any parking.

Concepcion,_ 563 U.S. 333 (2011) So our only recourse is with Congress. Interestingly, there was, in fact, legislation pending in Congress that would have done away with forced arbitration like this. But now that the voters have voted for Republican control of both houses of Congress -- as well as the White House -- that legislation is dead in the water. I got a ticket like this except it was from the city [who contracted with a different phone app company]. Conveniently for them, the first notice I got arrived AFTER the deadline to appeal the ticket. I had paid but because I “missed” the deadline I couldn’t appeal it and had to pay the about $50.

Two weeks later, I received a notice claiming I owed $97. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and they promptly dismissed the notice. I think having a parking attendant would be cheaper than the computerized pay, cameras, and other things used to run the facility. It sure and a hell is much cheaper than forking out $75,000 to someone you screwed over, especially if enough people get pissed and start taking them to court every month. 6000 cases a month, maybe 600 fines deleted, that means that the various pirates involved get to divide 5400 x $87 = $469,800 monthly in their fines and other BS (plus those legal payments they collect that were supposedly paid for the parking) If you are in a big city and you find a place to park in the middle of the day, something is wrong and you better think twice, because if no one is parking there [and there is never enough parking in any city] there has to be something wrong. I remember something that Chicago had back in the 70-80s known as the Oak Park Pirates that went around and found expensive cars, then towed them (no infractions involved) then charged a fortune to get your car back.

We paid to park, then went in to watch a musical in New Orleans. When we got back to our vehicle it had a BOOT!! with note saying who to call to pay & get a code to remove boot ourself. Nothing as lovely as getting on your knees in dress clothes to try to read the tiny numbers that are at the very bottom inner tread of the boot in the dark with a phone flashlight. We paid just to get boot off & then dealt with a refund the next business day because we prepaid. Such a horrible experience since now my husband’s pants have a nasty road stain that won’t come out.
