I got the airflow model and the thermal performance is the exact same as if there was no front panel whatsoever, which is AWESOME! Its a no brainer case for low and medium budget builds. I am using it in a high budget build and it is still a real performer.

I purchased the 4000X and enjoy it, but also had concerns of temps with the front glass panel. Searched all the retailers suggested by Corsair, yet could not find the Airflow front panel anywhere. Emailed Corsair, they asked for invoice, then sent me a Airflow front panel for free.

Just got this case, it feels really study, heavy but not too heavy. Panels look great, replaced the fans w/ the Icue fans - near silent even under heavy load. It makes me think its off sometimes compared to my old one that sounded like a jet engine when it was under heavy load. As soon as you put your hands on it you know you have a quality case.

@@heroassassin1068 I dont think simply playing a game (even a really demanding one) would make you thermal throttle. You'd get close for sure, but the FPS (which is what matters most) should stay consistent.

We're always hearing about airflow but when we see a delta of just 6 degrees(72vs78degrees) I really have to wonder what difference it will make in terms of performance. I don't see this particular difference in temps in this case being worth worrying about.

I have a couple of thoughts on this case: 1. I think that they put the 4000x model number in the filter, and made it nice, silver, and rounded off, is precisely because people are going to want to remove the front panel when they aren't expecting visits to show off their build (or taking pics). So they made it nice, because it can act as a front panel (sort of). 2. I think that sacrificing 5-ish degrees compared to a full mesh case is worth it for the esthetic factor, if it was more, like 10 degrees, hitting max temps, then it wouldn't make sense. But yeah, I think it's not fair to compare this with a full mesh front case, because of course it wouldn't win. Also, I bet that if you left the glass panel but take out the fine dust filter (let's face it, many X-treme airflow cases this day don't even bother with a fine mesh, more like a grate to keep little fingers from getting hurt by the fans, so they are going to take in some serious dust), it would be more comparable to the airflow optimized cases. 3. This case is the first case that has truly impressed me with a simple yet cool design, since the original Phanteks Enthoo Evolv. Case esthetic design has been going slightly downhill for the big brands as of these past few years. Airflow is necessary, but come on, surely we can arrive at a middle point between design and performance? Well, this seems to be awfuly close to that middle point it you ask me...

Do you plan to get this one? I have the same case as yours but its the 450D version. The 450D IMO hands down the best case Ive ever owned & I mostly owned Lian Li cases in the past. I love all the filters & I only need to clean 1 time per year & its hardly that dusty even after 2 years! The airflow is great. Only thing that bothered me about the new cases are they are shorter in length & also not as tall as the older 450D so Im debating wether its even worth updating....

Considering I was going to get a 4000D and then get RGB fans, the 4000x is 100% worth it on my end. Especially considering it includes the controller too, so I can add LED strips and connect my radiator fans.

My 4000 Airflow will be here tomorrow. First build in 2+ years, quite excited. Saw this case and the spec list was quite impressive for the price but one of the big selling points for me was 280MM top AIO support. I don't know why more companies aren't doing this! I don't want to front mount my AIO and have my CPU heating up all my other components and even if I was going to most of them you can only mount tubes up which makes for annoying gurgling anyways. Glad it has a nice muted design too,. I wish the tinted glass was a bit less tinted however, I like good looking internals but I have decide to go almost no RGB so I guess I'll need a white LED strip or something to illuminate it a bit.

I just built in this case and I love it. Only issue I saw was the HDD cage placement, but if you don't use HDDs and take out the cage like me, cable management is a dream. Measurements should allow a 4070ti to fit with a front mount AIO, but it's like .3 inches of clearance. Close enough for me to try!

I know basically the bare minimum about computers, but I want to build my own, and I've been heavily considering getting this case. My one concern is the fans. From what I gather from watching some videos, shouldn't you have at least one or two exhaust fans if you have three intake fans? Or are the three that it comes with enough?

I think the dust filter looks good enough that you could leave the glass panel off in the case would still look good. Maybe that's the intention and why it says 4000x on the filter.

Got this case and I'm happy with it. I'm running a micro ATX board and got a 280mm AIO top mounted. Corsair says you can fit a 280mm AIO which you can, however it is an extremely tight fit against the ram so be cautious when deciding to get an AIO. I got the kraken X63 btw.

A little fact about the fans, the ones that come with the case are SP120 RGB Elites which are PWM and are not for sale unlike the SP120 Pro which are DC only.

If there was something hiding the screws of the front fans it would look way cleaner. Maybe a more complex dust filter could hide it. Idk the front of 4000x looks like something someone who works with wood would make. If it was cleaner i think it would look better.

I had been planning on the 4000D for my build, but I didn't want the two fans that are included, and was going to get a 3 pak of CORSAIR iCUE SP120 RGB Elite Performance 120mm White for $74.99 US. But, I'll take the $40 USD savings and enjoy the 3 RGD fans that come with the 4000x.

I am REALLLY torn between this and the P500A. Both cases are great in their own way....this one for size and looks, P500A for feature and function. This would be a BIG winner for me if the front panel IO had 2 USB and a bit more room for top mount 280mm rad. The P500A has the USB I like and lots of room for a good looking case (the PSU shroud LED is great), but I can't decide between white or black due to the way the RGB looks through the shroud.

I read recently the 4000 series have interchangeable front panels with the 4000D Solid panel version and 4000D Airflow Edition being interchangeable with the 4000X front panel on any of the other 4000 series cases. If the 4000D Airflow part is available (currently out of stock for both black and white variants) it can be had for $4.99 off of corsair's website. If you have a pre-built with a 4000x case or non-airflow edition 4000D you might just want to remove the front panel while you wait to replace it with the 4000D Airflow edition front panel (to basically make it a 4000D Airflow in every respect that matters) if you are concerned about thermal performance. It may not look as nice as the glass front (Which I prefer to the solid panel 4000D), but it could be good enough for the moment. Especially if you plan to invest in LL or ML RGB Fans to make the build quieter than the SP series RGB fans included with your 4000X, this small change is a must to not choke the fans.
