That's not what happened. He wanted an extension the Pats wanted to go year to year. Also, Belichick had not gotten the weapons on the roster and never asked for Brady's input. He saw the handwriting on the wall. Kraft agreed to release him and not try to trade him. That's what they tried to do with Gronk, trade him to Detroit which his why he retired.

@ who cares what you call the sport…no reason to act like a 5 year old. “A lot” is subjective. If you mean “majority” then sure. But I wasn’t referring to the majority, just myself. I like the Premier League and other European leagues for many reasons, one being that all teams give max effort because they’re based on merit, not rewarded for failing like franchise American teams. Then I could go into the fan experience, the athlete’s behavior towards the media and fans, etc… and if you never went to a European match (South American even more-so), you’ll never understand

@Tomyohann Yes there are US soccer fans that weren't born in another country all and came here I acknowledge that but to me football is a wide receiver getting hit so hard his helmet comes off and he still makes the touchdown That's football to me. I do agree on the comparison when it comes to compensation in soccer and football though. Way too many football players get high contracts for one-off seasons and past performance when they're already declining or in the case of quarterbacks because the market is so high example Brock purdy is going to get a high contract when he doesn't deserve it

@@TiffanyBasner if the owners lowered the ticket prices significantly to the point where the normal person can go to the games consistently and start a “home and away stand” as they do in European soccer, the small downside is that it’ll cut into the player’s contracts or owners’ revenue. But the upside is that it’ll become a better fan experience, and people will be more invested. I also think they should abandon the “franchise” system and switch to a promotion/ relegation system, which will increase competitiveness (I think this is a bigger problem in NBA). But the owners are too “buddy-buddy” unlike European leagues. As a Patriots fan, I’m rooting for my team to lose every week to get a high draft pick. If you look at Southampton or Wolves fans in England, they’re depressed because they’re likely getting relegated, so it’s more merit-based and who do they go to when they celebrate?… The Fans. In the NFL and NBA, everyone wins except for the supporters.
