Can they sell some of the stuff they bought on credit card maybe? I totally agree with your idea Ira that you need to have a small amount budgeted to treat yourself. Guilt free spending can prevent blowout spending.

Great Budget Bestie. I think you’ve done a great job with this one. By having a sinking fund for hobbies/self care, you take away the “guilt” of spending the money when it’s unplanned. I confess that I have been guilty of spending my money on rubbish in the past and on occasion in the present. I find I am more conscious of my bad spending habits by watching these budget besties and trying to improve. They have been helpful to me. 🐸

First time I’m seeing this type of video of yours- I like it!! I also agree with putting some aside for self care or hobbies. Buy water enhancement instead of those expensive drinks to cut down on spending till debt is gone. I spend about $10 a month in powdered flavors so I get my water without paying pricey ones.

Love budget bestie. However. Anyone who says they physically can't drink water is just being fussy. Your body is water! Start with flavoured water. Or very weak cordial and train your body. Also getting back to work will probably help mental health. Esp being then able to pay off those debts. It seems alot of bad habits here. Hopefully they'll fix it because it will definitely take a mental load off. Because out of work who or how will you pay. A bad cycle that hopefully they can fix 🐸

I became debt free in December but I'm so worried to close the accounts incase they have a negative impact on my credit score 😢

Are you in the uk. The credit score is less important in the uk than in the US. What are you wanting a credit score for? If it's for a mortgage they do their own assessment that doesn't really take into account the score as long as you are paying bills on time. If it's to borrow more money on a loan, then a good score may help but won't stop you getting a loan. The big thing is are the cards a temptation you don't need.

@clairebailey555 yes I'm the UK. Ive no idea what I really need it for as I won't ever get a mortgage. My credit score is currently at 599. X

Maybe give up the drinks for a bit and and say water is the only thing I can afford at the moment or might be cheap to pick up a airup bottle in the long run
