SpongeBob use to be a little like Patrick but not entirely he’d be a lot more serious in situations instead of doing random things. His emotions would be more genuine but now he’s just doing random stuff. I think the director doesn’t understand SpongeBob that well as a chracter and maybe sees him as a low intelligent and spontaneous character. So every second he’s just doing the most outrageous things for no reason.

Thankfully from the leak of the full movie, fans did confirm.. This movie was WAY better than Sandy's Also... Personally a better idea would have been a MERMAID MAN and BARNACLE BOY movie. Possibly launching an IJLSA series. With the ORIGINAL group of heroes, Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy, Captain Magma, etc. But the other characters having the same powers are the original group, but with ocean twists. Like The Quickster being changed to be named after a fast water current or something. If done right it could be the next TMNT or Avatar series.
