I think target banning brings a fun dynamic to the game for viewers more than players, since in a team of six players you can only really target ban two people, which leaves you forced to put time into several characters, which i feel is something the game devs want to encourage given you can swap character at any time

I think this is something that shouldn't even cross the devs mind, there are more important things to do before caring about a couple dozen players being target banned. And if you are at that level you should be good at a couple characters anyway.

​@berkalikalila target banning a champ that someone is extremely proficient and comfortable on is just as effective, if not more, compared to banning just hela or hawkeye. You can't think about it so one dimensionally. Target banning happens in all competitive games with a banning system. Just because you pigeonhold yourself on one specific character in a game with a ban system, doesn't mean others should just let you play to your strengths. Everyone wants to win.

I disagree, I think bans should be used to target the most frustrating characters to play against. If someone bans Bucky and leaves Hela unbanned, all you are asking for is for someone to play an easier character for more value while also saying "stop having fun" to the person who didn't choose to main an op character. Swapping is for if what you are playing isn't working, not if someone simply doesn't like you playing your character

On the subject of target banning, I don't see any issue with hiding the names of the enemy team like how League does it during ban phase. For me bans have always been way more about "I don't want to fight AGAINST this champ cause I don't like it for whatever reason" vs "i'm going to shut down this specific person on the other team".

Sometimes banning certain people js better than banning meta. I used to be a master tier rengar main in league even in d1 i had a 75% winrate ( jungler ) do you think it's worth banning my Rengar or my 55% winrate let's say Sejuani if she was meta? Obviously you ban out the 1 tricks, and this game having players showed further promotes it.

This is how i see it to. Say your team wants to run a specific comp or play dive, and wants to ban a character that is super good against that. Boom, do that. Or if there is a character that most people agree needs a nerf and is a bit overtuned, just ban them too. Target banning feels no different than stream sniping, except now its supported by the game.

Yeah the bans after seeing the enemy name is pretty stupid. Bans should just be for banning a character that entirely counters your team strat. Its not like with DOTA 2 where there are like 150 plus characters. Wanted gets his Bucky banned, ZBRA gets his Hulk banned, TeamCaptain gets his Wolverine banned, and that's frankly ridiculous. The target bans are objectively a horrendous idea.

Tbh I like them. It changes things up and forces the player to not only 1 track the same hero over and over and over and over and over and over. And in competitive environments such as tournaments well it's 6 man teams so you get to choose 2 of those 6 players main heroes and you better choose wisely. Or you just wanna ban characters you know that anyone can use and go insane (HELLA)

The problem with this is you'll constantly gonna play against hela, hulk, bucky and Iron-man. I would recommend putting a streamer mode on the game to avoid getting your mains banned...

Well if the game gets big enough to be an esport (which it will), how a team target bans will severely change the outcome of the match. It forces players to be good at multiple characters which is definitely not a bad thing

While target banning can be a rather frustrating thing to deal with, that is the price for being an otp. Target banning isn't even that big of a problem up until the very top ranks, where people become more well known for specific characters.

I completely agree with hiding players names during target banning. If you specialize in 1 character, and are hella good at it, you shouldn't be put at a disadvantage because you are that good. target banning should be used to get rid of general metas, or a certain character that your comp would have trouble fighting, not attacking a specialized player who puts the work in on a certain character.

There are ults WAY more broken than Buckys. In higher rank you’re lucky to get off 2 or 3 dives. After the first it’s shut down about 70% of the time. His gun only has 3 rounds and has bullet drop off. 3 star seems fair considering someone like psylock is a 5 star
