for the lawyer getting into tech at 43:23 - look into the companies that make case management software and/or other legal-orientated software. create workflows, reports, templates, scripts, etc in whatever case management software you currently have access to. look into the careers pages of these companies and see where your skills best fit - e.g. support, business analyst, product owner. alternatively work in Nintendo/Apple/Epic legal department :D

Overclocking isn't the only reason to buy a more expensive motherboard chipset. PCIE lanes are are a major factor. On a B760i motherboard, you're limited to two PCIE 4.0x4 SSD slots. No PCIE 5.0 SSD support since there aren't enough lanes. But if two 4.0 drives is all you feel you'll need then yeah it's not bad. Not sure what happened with Linus ordering this stuff though, maybe they tried doing it just as the product was launching? I see Z790 boards for $250-350 CAD on average.

If you wanted someone to aim for doing a music production PC, I would say look at Devin Townsend. Another Canadian, who is criminally underrated in the space. @linus tech tips I would argue that the first iteration of a product is the easiest to improve on. That will always be the case. Regardless of what industry you're in, or what product you're working on, you would probably see that tend. The point might be that the product should be more thoroughly designed. You also could say that you need to test on a mass scale to get the information you need to make a product reliable in the first place.

@l3lue7hunder128 ай бұрын
You don't need a Core i9 for gaming, because what really matters is having at least 6 current performance cores since single-thread performance still is the most important aspect. The number of cores only helps with the overall workload, or in other words aside from very specific applications which can use many/all cores at once, if you simple got very many applications going at the same time. The sweet spot of high-end gaming, or in other words that won't bottleneck even a 4080 UHD, lies somewhere around a "Thread Mark" ( PassMark rating ) of 4k, so all CPUs which at least reach that level are good options. Some examples are: Core i7-12700, Core i5-13500, Core i5-14500, Ryzen 5 7600, ... . These are 65W CPUs ranging from $230 to $300 - not top of the line at all, but still more than enough. Keep in mind that at 1080p, something like a 4090 will suffer up to 20% loss despite having no issues at QHD.

I disagree regarding Linus's opinion that adding "at this point in time" is "pointless"... I would argue that if someone says "at this point in time" at the end of a sentence, that means that the preceding statement is valid "UNDER THE PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES". Which in turn also means that the statement will NOT necessarily be valid IF under different circumstances, say "in the future" for example. Let me give an example so that You (and mr Sebastian) might easily understand my point: If someone says: -"Buying X is a VERY bad business decision"! Then that means that You think that regardless of when or why You want to buy X, it is a VERY bad business decision. HOW EVER if You instead say: -"buying X is a very bad business decision, AT THIS POINT IN TIME". That OF COURSE means something quite completely different... I "ACTUALLY" believe that even Mr.Sebastian would understand, and agree with this. And I suspect that his statement was grounded in the fact that the expression is pointless in many contexts. But he should have predicated it, to saying that it's pointless when it is used in conversations that are explicitly or implicitly about something of immediate consequence. Because IN SUCH contexts the expression "At this point in time" is "ACTUALLY" just redundant, since it's already absolutely clear by the context. So now You know ;)
