Let me speak on behalf of the original comment you’re replying to by clarifying; you can try to slice it however you want, but at the end of the day, we NEED Nico to be capable of running the rock, because our OLine is mediocre right now, for whatever reason, & as long as that’s the case, we’re going to NEED his legs to help us neutralize the fact that teams are able to play a 5 man box against our OLine & still hold their own, which should NEVER happen to a team with a truly top tier Oline, which we simply don’t have yet.

That's probably just because Alabama has depth and would never lose to Vanderbilt ever again, or at least for another 40 years. We, on the other hand, would probably lose half the time to Arkansas if we played them 10 times. BUT, also, like Boogie said, all the team can do is not just recover but turn it around and go kill. They go out and destroy Florida then they can absolutely right the ship and go into the Alabama game with momentum and confidence.

Because all of those teams have a real track record. Why does everyone act like we are UGA or Bama? WE ARE NOT THEM and it’s sad to think we are. We can be good but we aren’t a great team by any means. We can stop the run, what else can we do? Score, against who? Pass? Against who? Defend the pass? Against who?

So , just curious on what your thoughts are if we was to get behind early on Saturday and Nico just isn't being himself, do you think Coah Heuple will actually pull him and go with Moore? Seems like in games past, he let's the starter go down with the ship. Also, I believe Coach should have given Moore a shot in the 2nd quarter of the Arkansas game. It may have been the wake up call that Nico needed.

When people at home can predict the offensive play calls, you may be conservative. They have staff who collect data on a coach's tendencies in certain situations. Arkansas played to win and Tennessee played not to lose. Big difference.

Just from observing Nico's body language, I don't think he can be just a pocket-passing QB, for now anyway...Heupel has to play to Nico's strength, which is obviously an RPO-oriented offense, and that in turn would keep the defense guessing...like you said Boogie, we need Nico to run when he can't see anyone open and Josh is gonna hafta open things up...great show man !...GBO!🍊🏈🇺🇸👍!!!

Nico has a lot of grace here considering he is a RS freshman who has only started in 6 total games total and of those 6, 4 have been neutral site or on the Road which is much more difficult to play in. I still don’t think Heupel is playing “too conservative” as a whole. The plays that were missed is proof of that in my mind. I actually think he was way more conservative in play calling against Oklahoma than Arkansas.

What could be the most humiliating issue for TN in this game. UF will play two QB's becusae they possess two different skill sets. One can run the other isn't a runner. If they are afraid to run Nico, than bring in Moore to run, and RPO, and design runs. But get the QB run production in order to win the game if need be. With so many games potentually to be played, i'm not sure why you wouldn't run another QB in the game anyway. Spread the wear and tear around. It's also much easier as a QB to come in and perform if you have the lead and the run production is there. I'd stress as a HC, "hey, this is part of the deign plan, not an indictment on NIco and with so many potentially more games to play this season due to the playoffs, this only helps us". I don't know why it's QB 1 or bust. Many teams do not have this mindset. OU, AR and now UF will use two QB's. When is it going to be ok for us to do that? We need to see if this is a scheme issues or a QB issues, or both and running both QB's in this game will answer this question and it needs to be answered this weed before the Bama game.

It's more than two things being true at once - Coach being conservative and guys aren't getting open / executing - it's also that our OL is putting us in a HORRIBLE position half the damn time; getting Nico sacked or committing unforced, mental errors which cost us penalty yards on 1st and putting us in the hole, or on a crucial gain which brings us back and we don't convert on 3rd down. Agreed though Boogie - 100% - we gotta damn run Nico. 5 or 6 times per game, RUN A DAMN OPTION

Florida is not good at stopping the OUTSIDE runs, jet sweeps, and off tackle runs. Something we don’t see to want to do. Huepel prefers a slow predictable screen pass as our outside run.

It’s hard to play a true freshman over a 5-6 year senior that’s been in the program and worked up to that starting job. As you can see, freshmen struggle. And even bigger, as a coach, once you bench that senior and show your team that you’re moving on to a freshman, those other upper classmen feel that you’ve moved on from them and are looking to the future and they’ll quit on you.

After that Arkansas game, I just feel like I don’t who this Tennessee team is. They didn’t even get on the bus to go to the game. And to see us lay another goose egg to a team we wasn’t suppose to lose too againnnnnn, I just don’t feel that confident about the Florida game. Terrifies me honestly. Tennessee had 2 weeks to prepare for Arkansas and looked flattttttt. Our 2 best Offensive linemen couldn’t pass protect at all. And that Defense bends to much. The middle of the field is always open for us. Just right over the linebackers is wide open.

Florida, for whatever reason, always gives Tennessee trouble. Good or bad. It's kinda like Dale Earnhardt and Daytona, could win everything but that race, finally got 1 win in 20 years and it was the death of him. Seems like that's Tennessee's plight as it pertains to Florida. It's usually the make or break game for Tennessee, and once again, it will.

Boogie I have to disagree with you on the tempo. I think this offense needs to get on the same page before we even try to do tempo if we just straight up go tempo that’s gonna lose us more games because the offense isn’t clicking right now once they start clicking, then we pick up the tempo and if we just pick up the tempo, we’re just gonna get a real quick three and out and then force our defense to have to go right back onto the field

Joe could not run tempo and do it efficiently and consistently. Thats why they dialed it down for him. Maybe Heupel does not have the faith that Nico can run it at tempo either. We cant just sit back and rely on the D. Offence has got to do their part. Would be nice to beat the Gators GBO!

Our offense needs to find its identity. Coach Heup needs to stop bragging about this elite defense. The defense has been doing its job and keeping us in games but two games in a row our offense looks meh . Right now we are playing like Iowa . Elite defense but a non existent offense . I'm pretty frustrated with Huep. He needs to set Nico loose. If he continues to coach out of fear of injury he won't be the guy for long. The NFL needs to see that Nico is a top 5 pick
