They say that DCS is a Dead World. Is it? Not if you have an Imagination!!

This is not a tutorial. I am NO expert on creating bases. I do have an imagination tho. The mods that I use to create the base is in the video....as well their names and link to each of them...in the description below. It took me a while to create this video so I do hope you guys like it and maybe take a few things from the video. Some of the links to certain mods, I cannot find them but give me some time, if anybody needs the link to the ones that I did not mention, put something in the remarks and I can see if I can look up their links.

@BayouFoxx Before I upgraded my laptop. I had 32G of RAM. Before opening DCS It was at 18% usage, after It was at 98%. So, if added too many objects in a mission, it would crash. My new laptop has 64G of RAM, so now it's just my lack of imagination.

Video is just fine. Volume is great. The detail that goes into your vision is unrivaled. Frankly, ED should pay you for the base and FOB setups you create and incorporate them into map releases, imo. Nice work! 🤘🏻🔥

Good news ED will make the Massun92 mod part of DCS core. I hope mission designers get on this level. We need the bases to feel more real. This was very helpful and great to watch. Thanks for increasing the "immersion".

Incredibly impressive work! As you were flying around the finished base, I was thinking about how cool it would be to see some solders/MPs walking around key areas. As someone who loves DCS especially in VR, but barely have enough time to fly, I definitely don't have the time to invest in this level of detail, so I too would love to have access to some of your incredible work!

People don't understand that if DCS had built in, simulated bases/FARPS by default, along with a "living" world, most systems would not be able to handle it. There is a lot of other simulation happening once you add in units, turn on the CiV traffic in setting and throw in scripting and triggers. It is an intensive thing that an "average" system can't just handle. You need to have a stupid powerful machine.

Great stuff! I've gotten deep into building out locations with assets and static props for cinematic videos, a little imagination can really bring things to life. One other cool tip, if you get into olympus for DCS, you can both build out in mission editor, load in, and continue to add assets in real time, in game. It makes coordinating large volumes of fire, vehicle and aircraft movement, etc. much easier than working with moving assets in the ME and hoping they perform in game. This also allows you to continue recording in real time, instead of setting up complex missions in the ME and endlessly running them, or trying to manage with the track file system. We need more behind the scenes videos like this!

Let me say, Imagination is they key for it, and this is all good if it's for SP, I struggle a LOT to make this for MP due to units limitation on DCS itself, never the less wonderful job here keep it up

You can build a very immersive world in DCS... but there is one problem... It only works in SINGLE PLAYER mode... In MULTI PLAYER missions, building a real base at an airport kills frame rate in game... and prevents normal gameplay... While when piloting a fighter it's possible to takeoff at low FPS and moment later then it's OK, helicopter pilots are screwed...

@@MrGoodnite44 When i make missions for my wing in which I fly, I always try to add at least a few units above plan at airports, FARPs or in the area of ground targets so that "something happens" on the ground. But unfortunately the DCS engine does not work in multi mode as well as one would like. We are all waiting for the new engine with great hopes... I hope it is efficient enough to eliminate such problems. What I wish for myself and all mission makers

@@arturrojek8034 I absolutely agree. The new engine will make things a lot easier. The things that I am hoping is that DCS steps up their game on Assets. So anyone can create a base or an airfield and use assets that someone does not have to download a mod for. I think that ED is working on assets but I cannot really say because I do not know. But assets would be great as well as a new engine.

I do not think I wasted my time building this base. It may not be a base for you, but I certainly did not waste MY time creating it. DCS is a dead world until you put your imagination to work. I have FOB all over every map in DCS so I always have a spot to takeoff and differenent base that I can land at....that makes MY world a little more immersive...for me. But like I said, everybody is allow their to post their remarks, I appreciate that. BUT I would greatly disagree about the Wasting my time part.
