I love my GS Mini, even have a bass too. I have the e-versions and have even gigged them on trips. I’ve taken mine all over the place- fits nicely in the overhead on an airplane 😎. Everybody needs a GS Mini! 🎸🐶

@@seandaniel23 If your has the pick-up, it will be fine. You'll def need to mic it otherwise, which is always "fun" at a gig. The real beauty of GS Mini is the combo of portability, very playable and better than average sound!

I have the koa GS Mini, it is an AWESOME guitar! It sounds soooo big for its little size! And the koa looks and sounds AMAZING! Holds the tuning REALLY well, and I LOVE Elixer strings, they're on almost all of my guitars🥰 This guitar is a dream to play!

Taylor started cheaping out on their GS Minis recently. No more tortoise pickguards, lower quality pearl inlays, and the mahogany they use or their necks is cheaper and lighter grain than the old ones. Oh, and they don’t come with Elixir strings anymore - they’re D’Darios now.

Like the song Sean!! I bought a standard GS Mini during the first month they came out! I think it was $425 then! The sides and back are mahogany laminate, but it has a solid sitka spruce top! I liked it right away, but after the top opened up (little over a year) it sounds awesome!! If people hear it without seeing it they can't believe its size!! Now it lives next to the couch and gets played every day! There is also a small clip under the top on the neck side, where you can clip a Taylor PUP on, plug it in and play it electric. I have played it on several small gigs for acoustic sounds, and it worked great!! The GS Mini was one of my best buys of all time!! --Gary

I did the BOGO deal Christmas 2022. Picked up a 114ce for $1000 I think, and $199 for the GS Mini. I have no clue why everyone likes that GS so much. My lowly 114CE is so awesome I almost consider it something other than just a guitar. The GS Mini however, is like any crappy $200 guitar. I sold it for $400 so I ended up getting the 114 for $800. And again, can't say enough about the 114. I kept hearing about playability, I went past that and fell in love with guitar all over again. Now silly me is focused on the 614ce builders edition like a Labrador on a tennis ball. $4318.92 after tax. But it's maple and will create a different and incredible tone as compared to the 114. And they hold their value. That's what I keep telling myself as the perfect one sits in my shopping cart at Sweetwater. At least I'm not telling myself what Alamo music always say, "it's a family heirloom piece". I truly don't even know how they can say that. My descendants would either set it at the curb for free or screw it to the wall for a decoration.

Don't know why they still offer the Big Baby. I always thought the BB didn't have a great sound and it was kind of cheaply made. The GS Mini is a pretty good travel guitar, or couch guitar and a great starter guitar for kids. Nice tune!

Gotta show the lefty crowd more love!
@aptfx2 жыл бұрын
@@seandaniel23 Would be nice ^^. I came about an interesting study which did show that there are as many "mixed handed" people as lefties. Mixed handed people are often seen as lefties though (often think of themselves as lefties). So there is only a 50:50 chance that someone who is said to be a lefty actually _is_ one. If we then apply the righty bias of the Guitar world, which makes being a real lefty still quite bad... I would think that the chance that someone who is playing guitar and thinks that he/she is a lefty is even lower than 50%. All those "lefties" who say playing right is/was no problem... its likely just the natural outcome of mixed handed people staying with the hobby and lefties leaving.

Best rationalization I've ever heard for 'rampant consumerism.' Taylors are overpriced. They're like the fast food of guitars for premium budgets. So much machining involved standardization is easier than for those companies still making guitars mostly by hand. So, basically 'giving away' another guitar on top of their higher end models…they aren't giving anything away.
