I’ve thought for a long time that For Honor is a really underrated game for esports. It’s had bad balancing issues for a long time, but things are improving, and it has one of the most unique combat systems in gaming. I’ve heard even people who don’t like the game often express that they go back to it purely because of how good the combat system can be.
@jasonarreguin10473 жыл бұрын
Is the balancing better? Last I've heard they gave nerfs the lawbringer and centurion that just shredded their identity and then released jormungdir, who was essentially day 1 centurion. I left because they just kept violating shinobi by constantly nerfing him, and he was my favorite
@thepearled01203 жыл бұрын
@@jasonarreguin1047 That was a verrrrrrry long time ago. Centurion got his rework like, a year ago, and is now one of the better balanced characters in the game. Shinobi just got his rework in the testing grounds, and it looks like he's going to be genuinely viable by the next season. Jorm, on the other hand, is arguably one of the weakest characters in the game in its current state. You should see how much things have changed!
@jasonarreguin10473 жыл бұрын
Last I checked, centurion couldn't combo charged punch into the jump anymore, which was his whole gimmick, shinobi lost almost half his bar of stamina doing a kick and it didn't have armor or do as much stamina damage, and jorg was dominating like s2 centurion. As someone who plays other fighting games I want to point out some things I really enjoy about this game that I wish other fighting games would start doing more of. - Online training mode (Guilty gear: Strive also has it but there are a lot that do not) - The ability to play ALL characters in training mode (You do not have to look up data online for other characters to learn how to beat them, and you are able to try a character before you buy it) - You can buy ALL characters with the in game currency (I bought the base game when it came out and now own all 29 heroes and only purchased 5 of them with $) - Great customization options (Multiple armor sets and weapons to deck your guy out and really make him stand out from the rest) This game got me to try other fighting games and fall in love with the genre and I get more and more excited seeing all the toxic problems of the game get patched out and I highly recommend trying the game out if you ever get the chance.

Been with For Honor from it's very start (mainly since am a sucker for Medievil Knights and Fighting games) What was probably the most curious thing about For Honor, that it legitimately took the devs YEARS to realize that what they made was, in fact, a Fighting game. As initially For Honor was effectively pitched as an action/Moba/Dynasty Warriors-lite hybrid game. Also, while controversial, I'd say this game still remains a fair monument on Ubisofts long-term support of games. Adding Dedicated servers and supporting it even through it's dark times, couldn't have been profitable, but they still did it. A LOT of people dropped the game cold during it's initial launch and peer-to-peer time.
@erichbauer39913 жыл бұрын
They invited tekkens harada to play the game before launch so they definitively knew it was at least related. Its more that none of the devs had any real fg experience imo.

My take on For Honor: the main reason it didn't get as good as it could have is that Ubisoft didn't know that what they were making was a fighting game in the first place. Many of the blunders of year 1 and year 2 could have been avoided if the gameplay was closer to a fighting game than to a zelda, and the game wouldn't have lost as much momentum as it did. Still, I'm glad that Ubisoft didn't give up on this project, and that they're still showing support to it to this day

a bit of constructive criticism/feedback: part of the reason why this video might have less views is the title: few people actually know what “deadliest warrior”, less watched it, so making that a focal point of the title maybe unfortunate. instead, maybe highlighting the “samurai vs viking vs knight” aspect in the title might be more attractive

One of my deepest yearnings in life is to see or fund Warhammer For Honor. Play as any unit from any race - Kroxigors, High Elf Swordmasters, Dwarven Slayers and Chaos Lords down to Dark Elf Darkshards, Beastmen Gors and Wood Elf Wardancers all the way down to Skavenslaves or Brettonian Peasants. Lower tier units have many many lives and can use squad tactics/assists while higher tier units are just stronger/have access to more skills, attacks or magic. There's shooting/magic casting aspects but the emphasis will be on melee combat. Pve co-op campaigns and quickplay scenarios for people who enjoy the warhammer universe but aren't excited by the competitive aspect, ideally with love and care paid to each faction and race. Pvp matchmaking ranging from 1 on 1 duels all the way to 32 v 32 apocalyptic warfronts. This is my dream. That and warhammer 40k battlefield, with a similar philosophy.

It’s probably never going to happen but I think a futuristic type character would be really cool in this medieval game. They would work with computers and teleportation/ other futuristic actions. Great video!!

I'd love to see you do a video on Evolve! I feel like that's one of the biggest examples of missed potential in recent years

For Honor is my favorite fighting game and i absolutely love it! That said i hate the fact that it is a forgotten game with less and less resources dying at the hands of incompetent developers which sounds bad but basically every game out there is dying at the hands of bad devs but atleast For Honor is by far the most unique game of its genre with the biggest potential unlike the saturated yet popular market of BRs and FPS games... I really wish more people gave FH a chance but i have to say this game is nowhere near begginer friendly but for me and i bet sone individuals out there, honing your skill in a game like this is so dmn satisfying.

For Honor is an amazing game. My biggest problem with For Honor has always been the need to do wonky inputs and abuse mechanical oversights if you're going to compete, option selects and unlocked attacks being a few of a slew of examples. Some people like that, it's essentially the same discussion as with wave dashing in Melee and the Korean Backdash in Tekken, but with For Honot the game has a great deal more of them, so if you like me prefer something more defined and intentional in design, these kinds of "exploits" can be difficult to deal with. The core game though, and the amazing characters, has unending potential, it's really a marvel in terms of design and execution. Redownloading the game to see how it's evolved.

I think for this game to work as well as a Street Fighter, it would have to have a combo system. There are several similarities between the fighting systems of both games. For example, in both games there are or were 50/50 mechanics, in Street Fighter you have to guess if the opponent will press a button or grab in certain corner and V-trigger situations. In For Honor no, Warden accesses this neutral mechanic. There's no reason for him to try anything else. I think that's why there's so much spam complaint on For Honor.
