@@HiddenHeightsFarm hey y'all, if I'm not mistaken I think you can pull a feather from each emu and send it in to get sexed. I'm pretty sure I heard that from Jason at coghill farm. Maybe talk with Jason about that one emu's leg and see if he might have a solution to correct the leg. He'll also let you know where to send in the feathers. Good luck with them. I'll be watching a long as they grow. Oh also Jason says that the male emu's are more friendly than the female emus. My cousin had a pair of emu's too and that was how her's were too the male was James and very friendly but the female Emily didn't like it when we got too close to James. When they're older they make a thumping noise in their throat like a bass drum it's really cool.

I wonder if you could take the larger emu to a vet and see if it's broken or dislocated. Often if you catch these types of injuries while they are young, it can make a world of difference. It'd be a shame to have to put it down later if it could be fixed. Maybe a splint for a few weeks. I know this likely doesn't sound like a lot of fun after what you went thru with Ghost Face and her needing the cast, but it's a short period of time in the grand scheme of things if it gives it a painfree, happy life. I cannot WAIT to see them running thru the pastures! xo Heather🇨🇦

It's so sweet of the eddy family helping everyone out, you guys , Gary, Dutch and Chad& Rae. Nowhere is too out of the way for them. Too make your emus friendly like ' nugget' at Jason's , you need for them to imprint on you, you might want to move them into the house for a while , then they learn that you are mom and will follow you guys everywhere and love being handled. I'm so excited to see them grow up, maybe something non slip on the floor under shavings will stop their legs slipping and doing more damage. Good luck 🤞🏻

Hello y’all. I agree with the comment that Jackie Saylor posted about the Emu’s. Jason, Brooke and Marycarl raised their Emu Nugget from a baby at Cog Hill Farm. They were at the Expo too. But I remember Jason saying that the Male Emu is much friendlier than the Female ones and if I’m not mistaken but I could be. Two Males don’t get along very well together. Now I could be Very Wrong about that but if I were y’all I’d definitely try to reach out to Cog Hill Farm to find out ? Marycarl has a Knowledge of Feathered Babies beyond any 12 year old I’ve heard about. I’m excited to see them growing up with each other. I just hope they’re a good pair ! Love your videos and your Pups are Amazing. Those one Geese that has all the Beautiful Feathers are so Adorable. Your property looks so Peaceful too. Many Blessings to y’all from Ohio. I started following Chad after he brought Leesky to you as a pup when you lost Daisy. Your viewers really love you guys. ~ Sadly, the emu Rae and Chad tried to raise didn't make it, but I know they'll be thrilled to see that your two families made a swap happen with the birds and the goats. ~ What a great video. I'm so happy Teacup is going to such a great farm. It'll be fun to watch her grow up just as it was to watch Hope, the baby goat that flew from "Weed 'Em and Reap" in Arizona to the Lumnah's in New Hampshire. She turned out to be a fearless little goat and a great mom. I watch ALL your channels. Now I'll have to add the Eddys!

You can fix your emu's splayed leg by taping them together, if it's young enough. It won't be able to move, though, so you'll have to keep it's food and water very close by. You can also find out the gender if you send in a DNA test, otherwise you'll have to wait until they mature. Males are typically fairly docile but the females can be extremely agressive. I hope your emus make it ❤️

Kevin and Rachel I love the episode and I love your family also I wanted to tell you that I raise chickens and ducks and yes in the Bruder a lot of times they end up getting spraddle leg. You can easily place a band around the legs not a extremely tight one so that they can still walk but one so that the leg doesn’t go out to the side and slide out this will allow her leg to heal leave it for two weeks or so and then check on her it may be needed to stay on longer. Also peas and different things that have niacin in them is very great for strengthening their legs bones and joints. Good luck with everything we are here for the journey!

Leskie's so funny, trying to go between your legs. We had a Bernese Mountain dog mix. He was tall and leaner than a purebred Mountain dog, but between would go between my husband's legs to get back scratches. When he would go between shorter people's legs, me, it would almost knock me over. He was so good natured, I really miss him. When I would take him for walks it turned into him walking and dragging me. But my great nephew, when he got to be 3 years old and could walk good himself, started to want to hold his leash and take Rocky for a walk. Well, I was scared how that would go, so we let him walk Rocky in our fenced in backyard he did great, walked without pulling and at Zachs pace. So we went for a walk out in the neighborhood, he walked the same with Zach, no pulling or anything, it was amazing the difference. We also had a Border Collie mix that tried to herd them where she wanted Zach and his baby brother to go. We had to watch her close because she would nip their feet, which was OK when they had shoes on but not so good also because most of the time they took their shoes off. I can't believe how much Kora has grown. So far I like Leskie's coloring better but I can't wait to see her coat when she's much bigger. Sometimes it almost looks likes she's got stripes like a Tiger. Good luck with the new Emu babies.
