Got tired of waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting for my Silverado EV RST, and have really been loving my Ford F150 Lightning Platinum for 8 months already. Plus my moonroof can be closed to shut out light here in the sunny Hawaii skies.

***** Rented this truck for 9 days and the screen blackout and the AC gave out due to a HIGH VOLTAGE CHARGE which was prompt on the screen. I had no AC on a hot day while it was raining. I was in Texas when this all happened ***** Save your money until it’s fixed

I like it, the larger battery and fast charging meets expectations for truck use, but the consumer available RST is just insultingly expensive for the average buyer. Heck, even some companies for fleet use too. I heard consumers aren’t getting any priority for the WT versions as they’re going to fleets, so guess we’ll have to see how the first generation of sales does at nearly $100k a pop for these, as that’s definitely priced out of the average consumer market (lol unless they decide to make 10+ year mortgages for these trucks) 😒

Heres what I want. GM needs to listen. 4 seets, a radio, a steering wheel and 4 seats. A 6 foot bed and means to stop. I want my truck to b optioned out the same as an 82 K15 with no options except AC. I want a below $30k price and if i want to add a tablet later, ill buy an iPad.

give me a cast iron LS without cylinder deactivation, mechanical 4wd/diffs, take out all the remote control bot and data collection crap, and a lifetime warranty because all new cars are garbage -and all pay you, GM, 50k -especially since you're making vehicles where you get cheaper labor

@comment_below Seriously flawed opinion with faulty references to past failures that will never rise again. Good riddance to that sorry ass'd cast iron LS, mechanical 4wd/diffs heap of crap from the past. They are still selling that sh!t now at $90k sofa on wheels. I sold that looser tech off 4 years ago - best decision I made for my wallet.

The 205 kW battery shows that GM still has a long way to go with battery efficiency and technology. Just slap on a massive battery and make the truck super heavy…
@TroySavary5 ай бұрын
You have a long way to go with your understanding of physics. It doesn't matter how efficient you make a truck. It all goes away as soon as you hook up a large trailer. The big battery explains why this truck tows 2-3 times as far as a Cybertruck. Btw, the Silverado EV is more aerodynamic than the Lightning or the Cybertruck.

@@TroySavary you are putting conditions on a factory made truck by adding a towing component. Let's see how well the cyber truck does versus other trucks in the water. Say about a foot and a half to 2 feet? You can add all the ancillary issues you want but bottom line is, there are going to be so many more cyber trucks on the road than other types of e-trucks whether you like the styling or the engineering of it or not. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday good sir…
@TroySavary5 ай бұрын
@@sergiomessina2037 One of the main purposes of trucks is towing. The biggest weakness of electric trucks is poor towing range. The big battery is specifically for overcoming that weakness. For those who want a lighter truck, GM offers a smaller battery. Not my fault a simple concept escapes your grasp. Even the supposedly failing Lightning is outselling Cybertruck, so your prediction about Cybertruck winning the sales race will not age well. Cybertruck's only market is Elon fanboys, and most if those do not drive trucks. We are already see that Cybertruck hype is dead and hundreds of Cybertruck owners are akready trying to sell them. Go check out how many are sitting unsold on the second hand market. Sorry, but cold, hard facts trump fanboy hopium.

Explain why you like the ford better. Throwing that out there without any explanation kills your credibility as if you took a bribe from Ford
@bahamatodd5 ай бұрын
The Ford provides the opposite of all of his complaints. Mainly the weight, and interior comfort and ride quality. Yes the Silverado has better range and features, but daily driving when you're not doing truck things will be better in the Ford. The WT doesn't have the ride quality issues so a middle trim Silverado with smaller wheels will be the one to get.
@Defender_Tom4 ай бұрын
@@bahamatoddThat is your reasoning, not his. This truck has air suspension. The Ford does not. Put 24s on a Lightning, then compare ride quality. This guy admits this truck is best in every category; he’s definitely in Ford’s pocket.
