Re: Nano, the speed boost was taken away like a year before it was given a burst heal effect. The burst heal was added to Nano in that patch where they nerfed Mercy heals from 60 to 50 and buffed every other support except Zen. It was the final patch in the chain of nerfs to Valkyrie Mercy

Abilities like Lamp and Hack are definitely problematic and hard to balance, but watching this I really do think the game just keeps getting better as time passes. This series does a great job demonstrating that. I hope to see more character reworks and changes to the way the game functions, I think every experimental change is a step closer to a better video game.

there are actually some that played on season 1 apex and are still playing and in OWL: Bernar, alarm (I know he is dead now sadly but he still played season 3 owl), twilight, onigod,gamsu,rascal,birdring,haksal. so there are actually some (counting until season 3) left playing.

Haksal, Birdring, Gamsu and Rascal are all retired as players. Gamsu plays League and Rascal coaches Dallas Fuel. Bernar and Onigod are still active players but they’re not signed currently… so… are there any actual players from season 1 apex still in OWL?

I know very late, but the 4th invited western team for S1 was NRG, who also had roster changes either during or just before the tournament, Gods and Pookz leaving because they had disagreements with the org. Also a total of 34 players in this tournament made it to owl.

Random comment, but Serral did win GSL vs the World, a Korean tournament, twice (along with being the only non Korean SC2 world champion) If by normal GSL standards, however, I still the closest any westerner has got was Jinro in the semi finals back in Wings of Liberty

Is it me or did Korean management did it much better than the OWL in terms of graphics and the booths and showing the game. In every way it just looks much cooler. OWL kinda sucks in conparison to this. Like just look at the team emblems being shown by the graphic teams. Just from that its much more!!!

(they wouldn't say' first in x otherwise) and Neeb won the 2016 KeSPA Cup in SC2 (obv Serral GSL vs The World in 2018 and 2019 but obv that was later)

One things for sure, Johnny had a much more will rounded skill set than Cocco when it comes to playing main tank. I'd certainly pick him if I had to choose a team back then. Cocco's offense was at times horrifically bad.
